I had a groin herina repaired a couple of years ago. I was told by my doc and in the literature i was given to give it 6 to 8 weeks after the op. The same length of time i was signed off work for (i do a manual job) You must be able to execute an emergency stop without bursting

Someone where I work has had one and was told not to do anything much for at least six weeks. Your doctor should have told you and you should obey him. If you don't, you may get internal scarring & adhesions or another hernia.
