If they asked me if they could smoke, I would tell them no. And I definitely would NEVER buy them. I started smoking as a teen... nobody told me no and a lot of times they DID buy them for me. They felt it would be hypocritical to tell me no or not buy them because they all smoked or had smoked. My children know how I feel about young people smoking. They know that it's addictive and very hard to quit. They've seen me go through it several times. If they DID start smoking, even knowing that I don't approve, I would do all I possibly could to help them quit early on, and in doing so, maybe I could finally quit myself. I'd rather be seen as a hypocrite than an enabler.

I'm a smoker and my 16 year old wants to smoke. He was allowed to at his dad's. He calls me a hypocrite. I point out the fact that he has gone this long without and I wish I could quit. I hate being a "slave" to cigarettes. Stop it any way you can.

Thats really too bad. Shame on her.
She's not your child, but you could try to talk to your sister. Since most of her family smokes though, she was bound to start smoking one day.

just b/c everyone smokes dosn't mean it's alright you should talk to your sister its definetley not ok to let a child any age smoke your sister is killing youur neice slowly now if the little girl when she turns old enough to buy ciggerettes and makes decisions for herself thhen thats her fault but if her mother gives her them it should count almost as murder and its shortening her life especially since she has smaller lungs

her daughter...not your concern...have a child and see if you want someone to tell you how to raise the child...kids at that age are going to do it anyway if they want to...you can """""TRY"""" to control it ....but i doubt if anyone will....good luck and let your sister raise her own child...learn from her mistakes....good luck....thanks for asking

Smoke what? If its just cigarettes I'm not sure there is much you can do about it. IF you feel it is a big issue call your local Child protective services.
