you need to find the courage to ask him. if you don't you`ll always be wondering " what if? " and if he likes you he probably won't say no. & if he does say no, then theres always other guys to dance with.

Look at it this if you don't ask him out, and he won't or can't ask you out, then you will be gong to the dance alone.
So it's up to you, just do it, he'll be delighted that you saved him from that effort.
