Some recipes that I want to try call for frozen lemonade or limeade concentrate. I live in the UK and cannot find this. What would be a good substitute or can this be made from scratch?

It would help a lot if I knew what recipe you were making. Sometimes you can substitute orange juice concentrate or even margarita mixer instead. You can make the concentrate yourself by making VERY strong (SWEET and TANGY) lemonade or limeade from scratch.

Assuming that the powdered mix you're using contains sugar (some don't but most do), Most frozen lemonaid concentrates use a 3-1 dilution level (3 cans water per 1 can frozen lemonaid). So, you need to make 48 ounces of lemonade according to the package but use 1/4 of the water. So assuming your recipe calls for a 12 ounce can of frozen lemonade, use 48 ounces worth of powder and only use 12 ounces of water

Frozen lemonade concentrate is simply concentrated lemon juice and sugar. If you cant find lemon juice concentrate ( and just ad with sugar) you could make a mix of lemon juice and lemon zest plus some sugar to substitute (if you dont want the bits form the zest you could blend it till smooth then strain it) . also if its for baking you can some times find granulated dried zest. If you do end up finding it or making it it can also be blended with Olive oil and red wine vinegar s&p for a nice sauce for over fish and vegtables
Good luck

Well, frozen concentrate is simply the juice of the fruit with some of the naturally occurring water removed. This is why when you "reconstitute" these juices, you merely add water.

Since most people don't have access to or would be able to operate a vacuum flash unit you won't be able to get the "concentrate" but when cooking... for every ounce of fresh juice added to a recipe, deduct 2 ounces of water from the recipe.
