I have tried typical Tums/Rolaids, to no avail. I absolutely won't drink anything else.

Tannins will get you every time. My husband suffers from the same thing. Try a few tricks like drinking in moderation (yeah, right huh?), elevate your head a few inches while you sleep, maintain a reasonable weight, don't smoke and try to relax. If all else fails try the prescription drug for acid reflux disease Nexium. Cheers!

Not all red wine gives heartburn. You never said *which* red wine gives you heartburn.

Generally the higher the tannin content, the more acidic the wine (to balance the tannins). Stay away from Bordeauxs, Cabernets, heavy Italian varietals.

Switch to Syrah (Shiraz) and Pinot Noir. Some zinfadels are pretty light, also.

If you know Kendall Jackson is the wine of choice, why not give a bottle of Kendall Jackson. Kendall Jackson has different grades from $14 a bottle to $95 per bottle.

See a doctor. It doesn't sound like heartburn. Does this happen with other foods or drinks? Either way, get it checked out. It could be heartburn, acid reflux, are a problem with your esophagus.
