I have a really close guy friend John, but I think my bf Chris, is jelous of him. I think today Chris sent his friend over to me at lunch to ask if I like John... I kinda like him, but I want to stay with Chris, so all I said was,"I like John as a friend." What should I do about it?

figure out who you like more and stop hanging out with the other guy as much.

Take it from someone who knows: it's fine to "sorta" like someone else when you're in a relationship, but it's what you do about it that matters. As in, if Chris makes you happy, then tough luck for John, you know? Unless of course you think John would be a better person to be with, but then again, you refuted that, so think we're all set. Just don't mess things up with Chris over pointless flirting with John, because no matter how hard you try to hide it, it'll eventually pop up.

I say do nothing about it. I also say don't bring it up with Chris, at least not that you like him, because it would complicate things for no reason, and plant the seed of doubt in both your mind, as well as Chris's.

I think this is a pretty typical situation. Your boyfriend pretty suspects that you like him, even if it's just a little bit and then he has a right to be jealous because you're with him. I'm not saying that it's wrong to have a crush on someone, I'm just saying that I think he's justified in feeling jealous of him because even you admit that you like him a little bit. You should really make your boyfriend feel special by hugging him and kissing him and not ignoring him when you're around the other guy. He's probably afraid you'll leave him for that guy or even cheat on him. Do whatever you can to prove him wrong.

You are entitled to have whatever friends you want. Your boyfriend may not necessarily be controlling but insecure. Be honest with him about your friendships. Perhaps you can introduce him to your friends Should he try to cut you off from them or try to tell you to stop being friends with certain people, that would be a good warning sign to get out of the relationship as soon as possible.

You should be able to be friends with whoever you want regardless of what your boyfriend or his friends say. You are the only one controlling your life and what you do, not him. If he can't get over you having a close guy friend, then you shouldn't be with him. But if you do want to stay with your boyfriend, make sure you don't do anything with your close friend to ruin your relationship.

Your bf appears to be a bit self conscious and insecure. Thats unattractive.
U handled it ok. I dont know what else u could have said. But, if you know for sure if your bf was behind the asking, i would have to ask him about it. That would make me a tad bit upset.
Good luck.

if you like your friend why not take the risk .. you are not yet married to your present bf .. what if in this coming days you finally realise that you really falling in love with john but you disregard you feeling for him... be real

I wouldn't call it controlling at this point. He has the right to want to know if you like someone else and i think he is doing just that. If he started telling how to live your life ect...that would be controlling.

not controlling but jealous. a controlling bf wouldn't even let you talk to john! just reassure your bf that you like him and want to be his gf.
