Why do boxers jump rope alot? Why is it so important for being a good boxer?

Legs and dexteriority both are honed by jumping rope, and it does the arms and shoulder good as well.

Yeah it has alot to do with footwork and agility. But really it gets every muscle in your body working including your mind. Hand-Eye-Foot coordination. It gets your mind in tune with the rest of your body. It helps alot with stamina too. 15 minutes of jump roping is like 30 minutes of running. I use it as a warm up and a cool down before and after workouts.

Jumping rope is one of the top exercises to improve stamina. Also, it develops a boxer's footwork and footspeed.

yes. one, it is EXCELLENT cardio, works your timing and coordination, and gets you used to moving on your toes carrying your own weight around the ring.
