I am an authorized user on a credit card account, and I lost my card. Will I be able to call the credit card company and request a new card be sent to me, or does the primary account holder have to do it?

I agree with the other posters, the primary would have to call.

If you lost a credit card that you are an AU on, for the protection of the primary card holder you should notify that person ASAP !!!!!

The primary card holder has to. There could be a charge for replacing the card.

primary card holder.....my kids both have one of mine and they can't even charge on it sometimes.....if you are supposed to have the card and are allowed to use it what would stop you from telling the primary you need a new one....and if you lost it, you are LEGALLY bound to inform them.....you should have reported it.....it can be used to ring it up to the max by the wrong person.

No. As long as you are authorized, it will be fine because they have your name on file.

I still share a credit card with my Dad and even though he is the primary, I call them when need be and make the payments too.

Good luck!

Not really. To build your credit, you need mostly old things on your credit. When you open new accounts, they are, well, new. And that hurts your credit.

the primary account have to do it since you are under his/her card even though your name is on your credit card you still have to tell him/her that you lost your CC and have him/her report lost card. i used to be under my dad's CC but it was risky since i am on social security i did not want my SSI to be denied.
