I would consult your vet first before you do anything. Mastifs need to have their growth controled so they dont develop any joint problems.

65lb sounds OK, but the only way to really tell is by seeing her, so check with a vet. You should not be able to see the puppy's ribs, and her hips bones should not be sticking out - these are the signs of underweight.

Generally it's best to feed a large breed puppy formula until they're a year old, and then move on to growth control.

The only way to be sure if you're concerned is to get veterinary advice, as I said, it's hard to say without seeing her.

Still it's nice to see someone putting so much thought into their pet's weight and development for a change!!

Be carefull, large breed puppy formulas often lack the protein and fat that all puppies need to maintain healthy growth. While it is true that large breed dogs can develop more bone and joint problems later on if they develop too quickly, babies need fat and protein is essential to active dogs (like puppies). 65 lbs does seem a little on the skinny side for an English mastiff. Check out this food, Flint River Ranch, at frrco.com their food is all natural and contains only FDA approved human grade ingredients. I used the puppy/adult formula and added a little low fat cottage cheese for my pup till she was about 6 mo old.
