i am 18 years old and a 34/36 DD. I would like to be a 34 full C. I am wanting the surgery because finding bras has become impossible. i need the cup of a 36DD but the band of a 34. I can't find bathing suits or cute clothes and i'm miserable. i also have found it hard to lose weight due to self image problems...not to mention how painful it is to run! i have indents in my shoulders and when i get my period i cannot even walk down the stairs because they get so sore. i had open heart surgery in 03 at the age of 14 so i am not terribly worried about the pain. i am just trying to decide if it is worth all the pain just to be a few sizes smaller. i like being chesty because i feel feminine but i would like someone to look at my face. i get comments everyday and get yelled at by administrators and teachers at school when i wear something barely lowcut. i can't stand it anymore! but i'm terrified that i'm going to lose sensation in my nipples. advice please?

Hi there, well if you want the surgery then definetely go for it. I am having a reduction next week, I'm 21 and a 34G and I am being reduced to a 34D/34DD (please don't think that is strange that I am only going to the size that you are now, as when I was a 34DD I never had any problems finding clothes to fit and I still want big boobs)
Anyway moving on, if you are fit and healthy and have a good surgeon then you should be fine having the reduction and you should also have full nipple sensation after the op. My surgeon told me that even though he has performed hundreds of Breast Reductions not one of his clients have ever lost full sensation in their nipples, some can have increased and some decreased sensitivity, but not full loss.

I think that it would definetely be worth the pain; it actually may not be as painful as if you waited. For me I wanted to get it done now, before I have children otherwise they would have grown huge and sagged a lot and then would have required a longer and harder surgery- it would be better to get it done younger, most older women who have had it done always say that they wish they had of done it earlier.

Good luck with your decision.

Have a look at this site under before and after pictures in the cosmetic surgery category and look at Breast Reduction Surgery- there is about 300 photos of women who have had reductions so this should help you to get an understanding of what your final result may be ( or at least you can understand more about the procedure etc)

I think getting a reduction now wouldn't be the best idea just because you still might be growing. Im 22 and my boobs are still changing, I have recently gone up to an E cup.

Also, if you have children and breastfeed, your breast size will go down. My mum was a DD before she had me- after 3 kids she is now a C.

I would recommend trying to find a really good bra, maybe even a minimising bra, and see how you feel after that?

Just read your additional comments. Have you ever gotten a custom made bra? Theres places that will do it for you, and as well as getting a perfect fit you get to choose the material and things like that

I had reduction when I was 22, I am now 31. I have never regretted it! I was a 34DD and am now a 34C. It was the best thing that I have ever done for myself. The pain was really not that bad. I still have alot of feeling. The only thing I could not do was breastfeed. Some women still can, but they actually took my nipples off and made them smaller, then put them back on. I hated having large breasts. I say go for it! My health insurance covered all but $75 of it since it was deemed as being medically necessary.

Heidi is wrong, you CAN still breastfeed after having a reduction. http://www.bfar.org

You could talk to different plastic surgeons. Sorry to hear about your one horrible consult but he was obviously not the guy for you. You should see at least three before deciding on a PS.

The reduction can really help with your back and your indents.

I had mine in Feb 2006 and have never regretted it.

If you have quad boob that is because you are not in the right cup bra. Have you tried Nordstroms to get sized? What did they come up with as your size? Don't do Victoria Secret because they will size you wrong.

Try http://www.justmysize.com they have larger sized bras for endowed women.

You deficient factor, I guess the ones are a truly suffering within the again. My one sister is a measurement E and my different sister is an F, each have extreme again suffering. It is virtually unattainable to get a bra that matches (beneath $one hundred/bra) and so they discover it complex to do fundamental matters like apparel looking, gambling sporting events, going for a jog...and many others. So many men are crude to them and such a lot of females are bitchy simply due to the fact they're intimidated by way of them. If you desire to get a discount I help you due to the fact I have an understanding of its rough. If the approach is finished safely, by way of a expert general practitioner there will have to be no issues with breast feeding at some point. More to the factor you would have an tremendously rough time breast feeding on the measurement you're. My sister has to paintings relatively rough to maintain again her breast from suffocating her little one. Some humans on right here might be imply and let you know that you just will have to love your measurement and they desire they'd yours, forget about them. Do what's correct for you. Best of good fortune sweetie =)

If I were you, I would consult someone before making any hasty decisions. What I mean by that, is dont do anything you might regret. If the teachers are yelling at you about it, and you want to wear pretty clothes, and want people to look at your face and not your chest, it might be time to rethink your options. Or, maybe the people yelling at you might be a little envious, you never really know. But I wish you the best of luck with this issue.

My mom was telling me to get a breast reduction as well. I know how you feel that you like having them, but the pain that comes with them sometimes doesn't seem worth it. She had a friend who went to the operation and she lost some weight from it, and tah tad no more back pain. Eighteen may be a bit young though because you still are growing physically and emotionally. Give it a couple more years and see how you feel.

If you go to a well known doctor, you would not lose sensation. And if your current size is causing much stress, health issues, etc, it is worth it. I personally am a 36C and it is perfect, I am still chesty, but not overly so. Research doctors, meet with them, and then go for it. Good luck!
