Catholicism is a Christian sect that believes in the trinity and that Jesus was the Messiah. Judaism on the other hand preceeded Christianity and Does not believe that Jesus is the Messiah. They also don't believe that Jesus was a prophet. That's a common misconception. Jesus is not a part of Judaism in any way shape or form, so any Jew that says that they believe that Jesus was a prophet are merely stating their opinion.
The following are the 13 principle beliefs of the Jews:
1. G-d exists
2. G-d is one and unique
3. G-d is incorporeal
4. G-d is eternal
5. Prayer is to be directed to G-d alone and to no other
6. The words of the prophets are true
7. Moses's prophecies are true, and Moses was the greatest of the prophets
8. The Written Torah (first 5 books of the Bible) and Oral Torah (teachings now contained in the Talmud and other writings) were given to Moses
9. There will be no other Torah
10. G-d knows the thoughts and deeds of men
11. G-d will reward the good and punish the wicked
12. The Messiah will come
13. The dead will be resurrected
They follow the Torah/Tanakh (OT), Talmud, and Mishna (varies).
On the upside, they don't believe in hell, and if you don't believe what they do, it's cool, as long as you're a righteous person.

Judaism believe that G-d chose the Jewish people to receive the Torah and represent the Godly path path by following in the rules he gave us for living. Jesus has nothing to do with Judaism one way or another and it is very wrong to say that the main difference between Judaism and Christianity is believing in Jesus.

A summary of Catholic beliefs is contained in the Nicene Creed (from the year 325):
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in being with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us and our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit, He was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered, died, and was buried. On the third day He rose again in fulfillment of the scriptures: He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son, He is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
For a complete description of what Catholics believe, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/index.htm
I will let a member of the Jewish faith tell you about Judaism.
With love in Christ.

The biggest difference is Cathoic's believe that Christ is the son of God, that he was born of the Virgin Mary, suffered and died on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead and through him we have salvation.
Jews do not. They believe that Christ was a prophet.
We both believe in God and in the prophecies of the Old Testament. We believe that the Jews are the chosen people of God. We all believe that the Old Testament is the inspired word of God. Catholics believe the New Testament is too.
I can't think of much else, I mean there are a lot of differences but those are the main ones I think.

Jews believe that by keeping the commandments, the law, they can please God. Catholics believe that by going to Mass and doing as their priests tell them they can please God. None of them really know whether they have been saved when they die.
But Jesus came because doing things, even good things, cannot be enough. Just one sin is enough to condemn our consciences. To have a clean conscience, we must put faith in the perfect sacrifice of Christ on the cross that paid for all our sins, and know that, as long as our faith and obedience to God's will continues, we will be saved.
'Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?" Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."
John 6:28-29 NIV
'We who are Jews by birth and not 'Gentile sinners' know that a man is not justified by keeping the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified.' Gal 2:15-16

Catholics believe that Jesus is the saviour and Messiah from the house of David as prophesied in the Old Testament, in such prophesies as Isaiah 53.
Whereas the Jewish faith rejects this and believes this prophesied Messiah has not yet arrived on Earth.
At the time of Jesus, the Jewish faith split into two camps, those who believed that Jesus was the promised Messiah, and those (a majority led by the religious heirarchy) who believed in a different type of Messiah, i.e. an earthly king who would lead the Jews to victory over their enemies. Jesus, of course, was not such a materialist Messiah, He rejected an Earthly kingdom, he said, "My Kingdom is not of this world" and he taught that people should love even their enemies. this was too much for the Jewish Hierarchy to stomach. They had expected a materialist Messiah and could not accept a spiritual Messiah. So a plot was hatched to get rid of Jesus, which resulted in His Crucifixion and resurrection. Those Jews who followed Jesus, realised that this was actually God's plan for His 'suffering servant' as prophesied in scripture. So these Jewish followers of Jesus were the first Christians, and this was the beginning of the Catholic Church. The Apostle Peter became the first head of the Church.
The branch of the Jewish religion that rejected Jesus, continued to teach that Jesus was not the Messiah, but an imposter and that the real Messiah was still to come. They are still awaiting this Messiah, whom many Christians believe will be the Antichrist.
Isaiah. Chapter 53 - A prophesy about the Messiah who would suffer, as a scapegoat, for the sins of humankind.
1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm
of the Lord revealed?
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and
as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor
comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no
beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows,
and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our
faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him
not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our
sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of
God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was
bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our
peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are
healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned
every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on
him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened
not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the
slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb,
so he openeth not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who
shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the
rich in his death; because he had done no violence,
neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him
to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering
for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his
days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in
his hand.
11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be
satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant
justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great,
and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because
he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was
numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin
of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
