If they were allowed to do the job they joined up to do, without the do-gooders interfereing, the worl would be a lot safer place!!!!!!! The problem being is that, they daren't chastise anyone or they are the ones thought of as doing the crime. It is getting silly now, everyone wants to be safe, their property safe from burgulary, damage etc., yet there are some who think that the police should not even tell people off, let alone arrest them. All this civil right sh** is getting stupid. The criminals go out with thoughts of doing wrong etc., so they should take the punishment! The saying is right.... If you cant do the time, you shouldnt do the crime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To the people who say that it is usually the people who
say that they hate the police are the first to call them, why
shouldn't they? at the end of the day they whether you like it
or not they are public servants, paid by us, they are
supposed to be impartial and not break the law to uphold the
law, but some officers think they are above the "rule of law"
(I really dislike the co-op but sometimes I have to shop there,
should I be barred.)
Does this mean that you condone the 100 or so deaths whilst
in custody in the U.K every year, the extreme and
unnecessary violence sometimes used when an arrest is
made.
These are reported facts and statistics they are not
made up by people who hate the police.
Personally speaking the majority of police officers do a
sterling job but there are (to use the words loosly) police
officers who are nothing more than bullies wearing a uniform
and are a disgrace to the job.

I think that the police on the whole do a good job - there are good and bad in every profession. The problem is that they are expected to do too much administration and not get out there and do their job - I imagine that this would be extremely frustrating if you were a policeman/woman. The problem likes with the justice system - imagine how frustrating it would be when you catch the criminal, present your case and the court passes so terribly low prison sentence, if at all and the criminal goes free again - with our prisons full that is exactly what is happening.

I agree with Quasi, the people who don't like the police are the first to call them and have them on speed dial incase they get bored.
Of course there are a few bad apples, but if you dislike them because you were going 60 in a residential and got a ticket. Then I don't feel sorry for you, I do feel sorry for the mother who is crying over her son that you just ran over because you were going over the speed limit and couldn’t stop in time. But maybe I'm just being biased.
To St. Abbs below> it's officer's job to answer all calls, yes you are right. But hopefully when you or your family call the police next time in an urgent matter, hopefully, the police can come right away and are not stuck on the same call for the third time that week with the same issue of no importance and be able to make it to your active robbery call.

There are many well meaning people within the UK police service, but the police system doesn't work most of the time.
We have had vandalism on and off for over 20 years, when ever the police have known who did it, they have never charged any of them, they have never got even1p back in compensation for the damage done.
Also police are just normal people, and there are a good few of them who let their prejudices interfere with their job.

Those that believe they have not received the service from them that they expect or those that are on the wrong side of the law!
The Police work damn hard (believe it or not) with limited resources and quite often under extreme pressure.
Blame the Government not the Police Officers who are working as hard as they can!

I personally don't like people like you (the asker) who criticise and incite hatred.
I had to force entry to a property today to find the occupant dead and de-composing. We couldn't properly identify him as a result. I personally did lots of enquiries to try and find his next of kin so we could inform them that their relative had passed away. I couldn't find any relatives so this will have to be taken up by the next shift and so on, before an officer attends someones house to pass on the sad news.
I would suggest that you think about it before you criticise the Police again. We do more than just issue tickets to people who have actually committed criminal offences and society would be a lot worse without us.
People like you really annoy me

Generally people don't like the police when they have done something wrong.
Strange that the people we want to risk life and limb for us when we have a problem or we are victims of crime are the same people we despise when we get a speeding fine!!

I think police officers are a serving the nation by rsking their lives everyday. But I also know theyre people and well when you give a person power it tends to get in their head and well "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely" They get power and all of a sudden they feel like theyre not responsible for their actions.

Who: People who have a lot of run-ins with them.
Why: Because the police get in the way of these folks having a good time.
I'm grateful for them. And I like the band, too!
