I trusted a family member to file my return in 2004 using Turbo Tax and they said they did it electronically. When I finally discovered that it wasn't filed it was too late and not only had their computer crashed but they lost my paperwork. Two different W2's and a 1099. It was a nice amount I was to recieve back so it would be great if I could figure out what to do. HELP?

Accuverify.com will help you obtain your federal w-2s and 1099s from the IRS in 1-2 business days.

Don't listen to the posters saying you have to have your 1099. They're confusing it with a w2. Since you are aware that you report all income from your business without or with receiving 1099s and the 1099 never gets sent in with your return - go ahead and prepare your return. Also, are you sure the bank wants your 2008 return as most people can't even prepare one yet? I'd ask again - they're probably looking for your 2007 return which was filed in 2008. Remind your banker that even he hasn't gotten his w-2 yet or done his taxes for 2008!

Contact the companies that gave you the 1099 and the W-2's, or contact the IRS and ask them to provide copies to you - they should have them since they would have been reported to them. You'll need the copies in order to file.

Go to your local IRS office and request a print out of your wage transcripts for that year. These transcripts will not have your state amounts paid, so u might have to contact the employer but u can definately get a print out of federal wages taxes, etc.

you need to get some new w-2s and a new 1099 go back to the employers (i know that really sucks) or go to the IRS web site and find out how to get substitute forms though the IRS.
