How about:

Dearest Father in Heaven,
Bless this child and bless this day
Of new beginnings.
Smile upon this child
And surround this child, Lord,
With the soft mantle of your love.
Teach this child to follow in your footsteps,
And to live life in the ways of
Love, faith, hope and charity.

Or

May God grant you always
A sunbeam to warm you
A moonbeam to charm you
A sheltering angel so nothing can harm you
Laughter to cheer you
Faithful friends near you
And whenever you pray
Heaven to hear you.

Or

With the first light of sun, ...Bless you.
When the day is done, ...Bless you.
In your smile and in your tears, ...Bless you.
Through each day of all your years, ...Bless you.

Or

May you always walk in sunshine.
May you never want for more.
May Irish angels rest their wings
beside your nursery door.

Or

May God grant you
the strength and faith
to count your blessings,
not your your crosses;
count your gains
not your losses.
Count your joys
not your woes;
Count your friends
not your foes.
Count your smiles
not your tears;
Count your courage
not your fears.
Count your full years
not your lean;
Count your kind deeds
not your mean.
Count your health
not your wealth;
And love your neighbour
as much as yourself.

With love in Christ.

Prayer For Baptism

2016-11-07 08:52:29 · answer #2 · answered by bodette 4 · 0 0

Well.....The Ritual she is about to undergo has no meaning to her at this age. It is NOT a way to Heaven should she, God forbid, die. As she is indeed born with Original Sin, once she attains an age of Accountability, she would be held accountable for any sin. However as she cannot make any decisions or choices concerning the condition of her Soul, if she should die now, she would be with God!!! There is no Ceremony from any Church that can forgive Sin! Christ accomplished this once & for ALL years ago! So what gives US or the "Church" the "Power" through Rituals, over Christs' work on the Cross??? Ok so I thing U get the Pix., but to your problem. I will tell U this, that unless U are Saved, God won't even hear Ur Prayer as He cannot communicate with a person(s) in a Sinfull state except If U are Accepting Christ. As a Christian I would pray that throughout her life God send people her way to guide her to Salvation knowledge and perhaps take the oportunity to dedicate Urself to that task??? John

Most merciful heavenly Father. We humbly come before you with a heart full of thanksgiving and love. On this day we present to you __________ your child. We ask your grace and mercy upon her life. Guide her through life's trials and tribulations and create in her a renewed heart which seeks only You. Receive her into your Kingdom as Your own. This we ask in the precious Name of your beloved Son, Christ Jesus.

Pray from your heart to God that he would bless the child and guide her all of her life! To keep her foot from stumbling, and to lead her down paths of righteousness. That her family would stick close to him and that all of the church would unite in bringing up the child to know and love the Lord!
