Do you or have you ever sponsored a child through Children International?

What is/was your experience with this organization? I'm considering sponsoring a child, but want to know others' experiences before doing so.

I began sponsoring with CI back when it was only $12/month. I have sponsored a total of 5 children with them, 2 left the program, I canceled 2, and one girl graduated from the program. The experience really depends on the child that you get, as CI says you get 2 letters a year, but each letter you write your child will write you a thank you letter which can sometimes be as long as a regular letter. CI's reports say that 70% of your contribution goes to your child's project, and I stopped sponsoring with them when they raised their fees again and I decided to just sponsor with organizations that sent 100% of your donation to the child
