Hebrews 1:1-2

What God spoke through the prophets and through his Son he has had recorded. As a result, all Scripture, from Genesis through Revelation, is inspired of God, just as the apostle Peter testified: “No prophecy of Scripture springs from any private interpretation. For prophecy was at no time brought by man’s will, but men spoke from God as they were borne along by holy spirit.” (2 Pet. 1:20, 21) So when we hear the Bible read, we are hearing the words of God.

What God had recorded was not merely for people of generations past. No, it was written for our admonition, as the apostle Paul wrote: “All the things that were written aforetime were written for our instruction, that . . . we might have hope.” (Rom. 15:4) What the Bible says reaches far beyond the days in which it was recorded. It speaks of future days; in fact, it describes in detail the times in which we live. (2 Tim. 3:1-5; Luke 21:10, 11, 25, 26) It shows the course that we should pursue now. Yes, through it God is speaking to us today. gemhandy@hotmail.com

Heb. 1:1 doesn't say he doesn't speak to prophets anymore.
I Cor. 12-14 speaks about the office of the prophet and prophecy is for today. The word preacher also means prophet.
1 John 4:1-6..says to test the prophets to find out which is the true and the false....meaning there are still true prophets.
I suggest looking up the word prophet in a concordance and you will find many references that apply to prophets that God still speaks to.

It doesn't!!!!!!!

Ephesians 4:11-13 -

It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

It's quite clear the body of Christ is not yet mature or united in the faith therefore we still need all of the 5 fold ministers, especially prophets!!

There are prophets in the world today! 1,000s of them! I know some personally and have received some personal prophetic words that have come to pass just like they were prophesied.

I am not certain that it says that specifically.... Jesus The Christ came to fulfill The Law(the Word of God)... that means that The Word is complete... so there is no longer any need for God to speak thorough Prophets to give any "new" Word.... The other definition of Prophet is one who teaches The Word... and that is what is done today... Teaching what is complete... not giving new revelations as did many of the Prophets of old... before Christ came

Matt 11:13 "For all the prophets and the Law prophesied until John"

Jeremiah 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Jeremiah 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

On the contrary, Amos 3:7 "Surely the Lord God will do nothing save He revealeth His secrets unto His servants the prophets".

Acts 2:17-18: And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophecy.

Actually, in the last days, prophecy has begun again.

Even tho God, our Heavenly Father, has a corporeal body of flesh and bone, he's not a guy like we are. He has been exalted and perfected and immortalized. i imagine many non-LDS Christians look to imagine that, to provide Heavenly Father, or maybe Jesus at this consider time, a corporeal body is to provide them obstacles, and lead them to below what they're. human beings purchase in better to the God of greek philosophy, than to the God of the Bible, the God of the Jews, who's better all the way down to earth, better genuine, than they favor to admit.
