My ex-girlfriend and I broke up in September of 2006 and since then we have not been in contact since. I have not heard a single word from her. We were in a relationship for 2 years and 15 days and when we broke up I lost contact with her and her family.

But this past Wednesday, I received a call from her father. He left me a voicemail, saying he "was just wondering how I was doing, if I was still going to school in the city, talk to you later."

I called him back a couple hours later and he didn't answer so I left him a message saying hi and told him what was new in my life and school, and I told him that I was leaving to go back home in one month.

Why would he be calling me now? I mean, I haven't heard from him or his daughter who broke my heart in over 6 months.

Before the breakup there was mention of me transferring to another school, and in one month I have to go back to Arkansas for the summer. Could my ex have told him to call? Should I see her before I leave to go back home?

She is not pregnant and her dad is not gay and calling me up for "hot sex."

After the break up, I still emailed her, but she never sent anything back, so if she wanted to initiate contact, why do it through her dad? She also changed her cell phone number after we broke up as well.

Me and her dad were close when I went out with his daughter, but he never called "just to say hi" before. Me and my ex were in a long distance relationship for the first year and a half of our 2 year relationship. She lived in California and I lived in Arkansas, until I came to California to go to college. I visited her in California two times (2 summers) in the year and a half that we were separated. And I stayed with them at their house, and her dad was totally fine with it.

I really want to see her before I leave, but I didn't mention anything to her dad in my message, and I don't want to call back because it would seem like I'm desperate. It's been a week since I left him the message and no call back.

It sounds to me that he liked you and thought you were good for his daughter and wishes you two were still together. Or maybe he sees that his daughter misses you and tried to contact you to maybe let you know?

Maybe he misses you. You said you were close. You broke up with his daughter, not with him. Maybe he would like a goodbye from you. Maybe you should put out the effort to go and see them all before you leave, just to say goodbye.

It sounds like your girl still has feeling for you. She probably using her dad to find out how you doing. The dad probably did it to see her daughter happy. You should talk to your ex

Maybe she is dating a real jerk now and her dad longs for "the good old days". No....I wouldn't call her...why set yourself up for heartache again?

Maybe, he just wanted to know how you were doing, nothing more nothing less. You are reading way to much into it.
