Using My Computer, browse to the location of the zip file. Double-click the zip file. Now you will see the files in the zip file.
You can either drag & drop them somewhere else, or right-click somewhere in the window and click Extract All.

XP on its own cannot unzip files. You need a piece of unzip software. The "official" software is Winzip. However, you may find many free versions of unzipping software on the web. Just go to, say, Google, and search for "unzip".

Usually you can see the zipped file and if you double click on it, XP will ask you whether you want to unzip the file. You have to pick a place to extract the files, chose a place and execute.

Yes, XP has a built-in file extraction. Just doubleclick on the file, then select Extract From. That'll unzip the file and then you can open it.

yes winzip supports unzipping of files and tht you can do by installing a software called winrar.
using winrar you can zip as well as unzip in both formats dat is .zip and .rar

no but download winzip or winrar. win rar will unzip rar files and zip files. its great. cant go without it.
