The New Testament goes on at length about things women are not allowed to do:
have short hair
uncover their heads
speak in church
wear braids, gold, jewelry, or expensive clothing
have any type of leadership role or authority over a man

My mom learned the truth years back when assemblies used to go on for 7/8 days and evening sessions too. Those days the catering was done for all the brothers and sisters who would be attending. My mom was working in a family business like a supermarket/wholesaler and some sisters came there to buy some of the supplies for the assembly catering and left her with an invite to come and listen...with some opposition from her husband, she still went and enjoyed what she heard and saw. However due to her situation, and opposition (greek orthodox family) she felt powerless to do anything. However circumstances changed, a year later she divorced her husband and moved to another town. Sadly her Dad also died which put her against religion, until someone knocked on her door. She learned God has a name, and of the resurrection hope... then she met my dad. Together they studied and were baptised and a year later married. That was way back in 1963.

polygamy have you ever learned about polygamy?
Polygamy (po·lyg·a·my) n. 1. The condition or practice of having more than one spouse at one time. Also called Plural Marriage.
But within their beliefs, they also believe, NOT to marry outside the blood line, in order to keep it pure. So a lot of inbreeding,
A young woman can have up to 10 mother's, and when she reaches the age of 13 the father will "bed" his daughter to prepare her for marrige.
The maryy his daughter off to her uncle or cousin, and she will be one of many wives to repeat the process.
They believe that ANYTHING un divine comes from the female gene,
( female baby, blond hair. ) Anything that could be a "temptress"
One polygamist family was busted in the earily 90;s in Utah, the man had 50 wives. adn almost killed is daughter for running away

Christianity - It's the only religion that has as our leader, a guy who is both human and God! Jesus Christ is His name.
Not even one other religion in the world has this as a belief. Not Islam, not Jehovah's Witnesses, not Mormons, ... and the list goes on!

My cult is the Church of the Subgenius. It's the One True Faith. It's truths are hidden in seemingly meaningless rants and cryptic passages. It's the only other place I have seen the truths I have uncovered, but they are so disguised with jokes and humor that the Conspiracy hardly pays them any mind

The only weird and crazy thing about religion are those that become fanatics over it, to me it's religious insanity.

Jehovah's Witnesses - For some reason people think it's odd that we go door to door preaching the good news of the Kingdom, even though every translation of the Bible commands us to do so.

Eastern Orthodox: we like doing things 40 times.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some Charismatic Christians believe that they can increase their wealth by chanting "Money Cometh to Me." This actually happened in a chapel service at Oral Roberts University. My husband was there. If you're looking for really interesting stuff, study the "seed faith" or "word of faith" movement. Also, look at the aspects of hypnosis that are used in the services.

Well, the weird thing about my religion is that I made it up. I mean I took a little something from Catholicism, a little from Baptist, a little from Methodist, a little from Episcopal, and a little from Judiasm. It's uniquely mine.

I've found the best book to learn about other religions is "Mankind's search for god".
