i know that global warming is farce but I am going to research it anyways. So, is this a thesis paper, or a research paper, because I will be somewhat simply picking apart the theory of global warming? What would be a good way to go about this?
Im homeschooled so many of the things I do have to be self driven but a little advice or help would be appreciated thanks.

I meant the popularized hysterical reasons that are taught of global warming. I dont know if Id consider 1 degree 'warming' it GOT one degree warmer, but is it rising? PEOPLE! DONT PICK APART MY WORDING JUST ANSWER THE QUESTION, NONE OF YOU DID SO! I want to know what format my paper should be written in!

meridock-that "concensus" is composed of a very small percentage of the worlds scientists and only 10 percent of them are accredited. Dont you find it suspicious that they get federal grants for supporting it? Good answer though, I gave you a thumbs up, everyone else focused on the thesis wording while I wanted to know what my format should be. Thanks.

You aren't going to be able to pick it apart and have your paper actually mean something because it is pretty clear that global warming is happening.

First, if you are writing a paper on anything be it global warming you have to do it and all research with a clear mind and not biased.

You say global warming is farce, believe it or not it is true and a natural phenomenon but here the problem is that we humans have induced the rise in temperature to a much faster rate than it would have happened naturally.

When global climatic changes take place naturally they give us time to change our habits to translocate and here with the kind of population explotion and lack of land we do not see anything like that possible.

Global warming and cooling cycles have caused floods earlier and if you look into old cultures of VEDA, MAYAN and EGYPT you will find details in their. The great flood a few thousand years back was a reality but it happened due to natural causes and our people had enough time to save themselves. All living creatures knew what is happening and migrated to other locations. Those who could not simply vanished from the face of the earth.

So, do go through all these details of last 10000 years minimum (what is available in our records or in scriptures) and only than your paper will be really complete. Add the diffrence we humans have made due to over exploitation of natural resources, pollution, green house gases, deforestation, burning of fossile fuel and all other non sustainable things.

Once complete do send a copy to read.

Even research papers need a strong thesis. Sounds like you have one.

Then you need to supply arguments in favor of your thesis. Be sure to research it thoroughly and not just disregard the evidence you don't like.

Try to start your research with an open mind-neither for nor against the global warming crises. Make sure you vary your sources and drill down to get primary sources. That is, if a newspaper article quotes a study, get the study itself and read it, don't just quote the article. Although much of the studies will be written in highly technical language, I find that reading the summary and overview at the beginning of the paper gives me a good idea of what’s going on.

A paper attempting to debunk the entire climate change model and projections is going to be very long. I would suggest just focusing on part of the debate. After you do some reading, you should be able to focus your subject.

For example, you could write about specific pieces of evidence for or against global warming. For example, the melting of the glaciers worldwide or the ice bore samples in tAntarctica. A narrower focus will allow you to write a very strong paper.

BTW, I accept the consensus of the scientists worldwide on the climate change model (global warming) but I encourage you to do your own reading and thinking about the matter.

Good Luck.

The first piece of advice is to approach the subject a little more openly. Global warming is not a farce. (Al Gore is a farce but that is a different paper.) The earth is in a period of warming. Simple temperature measurements will confirm that. The issue is really, why?

Al Gore and his alarmist pseudo-scientists want you to believe that man is the reason. (By the way, he also says you can solve the problem by sending money to his company. Hmmm?) Most independent scientists believe it is part of a naturally recurring cycle and it is about to switch again. In fact, contrary to claims in Gore's movie, some scientists tell us that there have been at least three warmer periods during the last 50,000 years. These occurred long before the greenhouse gas problem that Gore claims is the culprit.

The answer to your question about global warming maybe its driven by both man as well as the natural cycle of the weather at the same time. I believe man may make the cycle worse then it should be.

Global warming is happening, and we may actually have some (minor) impact as well.
It has just been reported, that Mars had a global warming also, of 1F between 1970 and 1990. Something to ponder.

The fact is that the earth is warming. We have measured it.

The question is, to what extent has man's activities contributed to this trend? You can pretend whatever suits your fancy, but if you are interested in real science you might do well to look up the UN report on climate change, and also consult other, reliable sources.

Farce! You call global warming a farce?
You go ahead and believe that and I can bet you will be one of the ones tramping others aside as you scream for help.
