Actually, men and women are equally called to be faithful. The Bible never expouses the idea that it was ok for David and Solomon and others to have multiple wives.
Jesus says that adultery was incorrect, and he was speaking to men when he said...
Matthew 5:28
but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman [2 Sam 11:2-5; Job 31:1; Matt 15:19; James 1:14, 15] with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Matthew 5:32
[Matt 19:9; Mark 10:11; Luke 16:18; 1 Cor 7:11] but I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except for the reason of unchastity, makes her commit adultery; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
Matthew 19:9
"And I say to you, [Matt 5:32] whoever divorces his wife, except for immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery"
There are many instances in the Old Testament as well of adultery being condemned.
In fact, the OT and NT both say that marriage should be between one man and one woman...
Genesis 2:24
[Matt 19:5; Mark 10:7, 8; 1 Cor 6:16; Eph 5:31] For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.
Matthew 19:6
"So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate."
So you see, it's not that God gave them special permission to have multiple wives, but rather that He allowed it without striking them dead. That does not change the fact that adultery is wrong for men AND women.

The answer is yes, as concubines were common during the era of early Christianity. Now, what you're going to get is a lot of junk horror fiction called the revelations. When there not being the scare tactic and an answer all they are the stuff of which Cultists build things like Jonestown and The Waco fort people.
Bible adultery is a man having relations with another Man's wife and the woman will get punished even if raped. . . that's the commandments and the laws.

And the 2 shall be one flesh. The Husband and the wife. Not the wife and two husbands and not the husband and multiple wives. Look at Abraham, Jacob, David and Solomon. What advantage did they derive from multiple wives? In all cases it worked out to their shame and sinfulness. Remember that these men were faithful (Most of the time in their hearts to God.) but they were sinful men and this was and is a sin.

I Corinthians 7:2 says because of fornications, let every man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.
It also says that the man should love his wife, even as Christ loved the Church, and gave himself for it.
My brother, for you to say that you've read the Bible countless times, you've been missing a great deal.
God wants us to be Holy.
Our bodies are temples and should be treated as such.
I would love to write more but time will not permit. I just had to stop what the enemy is spreading in some of us. (LIES)
Christ came to show us Faithfulness.

The men married multiple wives, and in those days, it was important for men to have children, so sometimes the wife would give their husbands a woman to bear children if she couldnt. However, if you really look at all the men with mulitple wives in the stories, they are filled with all sorts of drama. So, any smart person would read these storys and say, hey, doesn't sound like a good idea to have more than one wife.

No, it is called fornication and adultery throughout the bible.
For passages referring to men having one wife see 1 Timothy 3:2, 3:12 and Titus 1:6.

Society was different in Biblical times--slavery was not a sin. Women were thought of on the same plain--as animals--property--possession. With Christ coming a new look was given to Women--respect--love--honor. If we look at the ten commandments--ex.2014 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
I think that is very clear God said it Society may change but Gods law will always abide.

Cheating is not biblical..what you are talking about is having many wives...many people in the old testament had many wives by custom and their law. They were allowed to have more than one wife. If it were legal for a man to have many wives today...i don't think God would see it as a sin. It might help wandering men today..but who knows..even back then men had affairs.

God gave them over to the old way of life. In those days population survival was more important than faithfulness.
But there were still dire consequences to the unfaithfulness.
Abe had Ishmael with an egyptian, not Sarah, the father of the Arabs. The jews and arabs are still at war today.

Well, if you've read the bible "many times" you should know that women are little more than the man's property. Here are other things women aren't allowed to do:
have short hair
uncover their heads
speak in church
wear braids, gold, jewelry, or expensive clothing
have any type of leadership role or authority over a man
But, you probably did one or more of these things, so what does it matter? You ignore what you want and choose what you want from the bible, so pick-and-choose on this point too.
