That is completely wrong. God never contradicts Himself. If you do a complete study of the Bible for your self you would see this. The reason most people get different interpretations of the Bible is because they only take one verse, and do not read the verses before or after to get the whole context of the meaning. First Peter 1:20 says "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation." The Bible is its own interpretor. If you don't understand something, as long as you keep studying the Bible you will find the interpretation for yourself. You say He contradicts Himself, but I know you really couldn't show me where.
God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Because of the fact that God does not contradict Himself and that the Bible is its own interpretor, and that if the Bible is followed according to its own interpretation and not the interpretation of man than it is not hard to "strictly" follow the Bible principles as they are layed out. Understanding the Bible is easier then you think.

It's not a strict interpretation at all, we simply believe in the teachings of Christ that's all, as for the old testament it no longer holds any power in today's world, Christs coming fulfilled and voided the old testament, there are a lot of religious loony birds out there that still quote the O.T. but it really has no merit to it any more.

Spend more time studying and your ingnorance of biblical scripture will decrease. You wiil also learn that there is really very little contradiction between the two testaments. In the areas where contradiction appears to exist, there is little of value to argue about.

Please provide an example of a contradiction and we will address it.
God has not changed from the old testament to the new testament - what has changed is that Jesus took the punishment for our sins. Now our relationship with God is healed, because of what Jesus has done.

How can some people be christians at all? The answer is the same. The actual belief doesn't matter. Most christians were indoctrinated at a time when they couldn't think rationally--their childhood. If this happened during their adult years, it would be called brainwashing. However, children can't combat irrational superstition yet.
So the answer is the same for why most people have religion in the first place.

Old Testament is Jesus concealed and the New Testament is Jesus revealed. God never contradicts Himself. From Genesis to Revelation it is all about Christ Jesus and the death, burial and resurrection.

First of all, the Bible was not written by God, but by men. Men with agendas, which is why "God's Words" are so often contradictory.
Many Christians interpret the Bible according to their own prejudices and biases, or they take in hook, line and sinker, everything that their preacher tells them. It is a way of not thinking for themselves.

You really don't give any examples of how you feel God has contradicted Himself. I think He has been very consistent. Don't sin or judgement will befall you. People who turn from God face that judgement. Those who turn to Him are given forgiveness. That is the story of God.
