Do some weight training for a complete workout. Running will handle all of the cardio

No. Not overall shape. You can burn calories and raise your heart rate to boost your metabolism but it takes a balanced workout to be in overall shape. That means strengthening, stretching and breathing.

Also, be careful of running exercises. I do not recommend it for all people. It can be especially hard on women. If you start start out slow on an even pace. Try not to run on pavement but on dirt, grass or sand (an excellent way to work out BTW). Buy good running shoes because you can end up hurting yourself instead of helping yourself. Try not to over do it in the beginnig you'll burn yourself out. Good luck and have fun!!!

NO! You will improve your legs, lungs, feet: but what of your upper body chest, shoulders, back, neck. and arms all these are left out when you do nothing but run. To be in top shape one has to work on all muscle groups. That is why people say swimming is the best all around work out, a swimmer uses the whole body to swim.

If you run 3 to 4 times a week for about 1 hour. Yes you can...
As well you will see that running will start to be addictive...
the first month is the hardest for the motivation.
Good luck

Absolutely! Cardiovascular training is the best for you! Works out your body and your heart :)
Running, jogging, and swimming especially - tones your entire body - swimming is actually the best way to get all of your muscles going at once. If you prefer to run, then try running with light weights (holding/attached to your wrists and ankles). They sell them at any fitness/sports stores. Run everyday - push yourself - and you will be in phenomal shape in no time!

It depends on how much you want to develop your muscles. If you're just trying to get stronger I think just running would be ok. But if you're trying to get toned definition running will help get the fat off and then weight training will help strengthen the muscles so when the fat is off you can see them better.

Running or jogging (even walking) is pretty good overall for burning fat/ calories and improving circulation, strengthening your cardio-vascular system, etc. Doing some spot training (like abs or arms) may make you feel like you "look stronger" but certainly walking, jogging, running are great conditioners!

No, not by simply running. It does help, but you need a good balance- exercise properly, eat a right amount of healthy foods, get a good amount of sleep, make sure you don't stress yourself out too much, and laugh a lot : ).

Actually, for OVERALL shape, swimming is better than running, and not as hard on the joints.
