So why is it that the athiest tries to un convert the christian ?

Since the athiest doesn't have to "do" a damm thing why don't they just enjoy that privilage more than they do ?

It is the christian that is in slavery not the athiest

Your still employed aka slavery - I am not - I am free to do or not do -

So again asking mostly the athiests here why is it that more athiests don't enjoy the freedom of not having to "do" anything?

Reading you answer - I wanted to agree with you and shake your hand -

But I suspect the truth is that we are just going to have to put up with the morons - They out number the non moron crowd by quite a bit

It's been a few years since I heard that one. The concept has been created of god that is so prevelant in our society that some in society talk about him as if this mtyhological creature was in the room

If I said I don't believe in unicorns you would not acuse me of a double negative at all but understand that I reject an abstract theoretical.

Some years ago primitive man invented an idea of god That idea has evolved over the generations and is still evolving - I don't buy into the created story of the unicorn and or god -

There is no double negative

Clearly you feel more strongly than I do -

I am going to enjoy my freedom of "not doing". That said I will say thank you because you are willing to go battle it out it preserves my freedom - I appreciate it .

But I just don't care what the crowd wishes to buy into

We're not trying to revert anyone to atheism. We only want members who are smart enough to figure it out for themselves. But your attempt to shut us up won't work, precious.

Added with your additional details: I believe in not sitting idly by and allow the religious full reign. I believe that you must keep your hand in the game so that religious dogma doesn't permeate our society beyond the point it already has. I feel it is our duty to care about religion and speak up against it when it crosses the line between personal belief and societal control. No more will I take it lying down when the religious try to control our schools, laws and government. No sir, I will not be quiet.

Trout,
The key to the puzzle of your question has been answered by a few people above, and I might add that a true Christian is not in slavery; they are in a Spiritual bond with their Creator and with Christ. So, it is not the job of well meaning Christians to convert anyone; not only that, it's not possible, as Christ does all the converting. There are many so called "Christians" out there, and some who claim to be, who give Christians a bad name. Maybe that's the reason for much of the anti-Christian feelings. A true Christian knows that it is Christ who picks a person to follow Him, and all the cramming down anyones throat, wouldn't bring a single person to Spirituality.
Enjoy being an Athiest, if that's honestly how you feel...as no one should force their beliefs upon another, no matter where they're coming from.

You have it entirely wrong, it is not your job to convert anybody, it is your right to believe in whatever you wish to believe in, having said that it does not give you the right to force your faith onto people that have no interest in religion, we Atheist`s would much sooner be left out of the equation, I would never try to un convert a believer, when did an Atheist knock on your door and try to dissuade you from your religion? never ever, I would rather not enter into a conversation about a subject that has so many holes in it that the whole theory does not hold water, a subject that seem`s so unlikely that I cannot see how any intelligent person would think any of it was true, but there you go again, criticizing perfectly sane people for not believing, therefore demanding a response which you call, trying to unconvert you. So once and for all, if you don`t ask an Atheist question`s about why we don`t have your faith we wont give you answer`s that you object to, as I said you can believe in whatever you want, whatever God you want, (look on the Internet there are hundred`s of God`s from hundred`s of different faith`s to choose from), the only statement I can make is that I also have the right to believe or not believe and as I have said I choose not to and I have explained why.
Chris.

If a Christian's job is to make a believer out of me, they have some tough sledding to do. I was brought up as a Christian. I went through all of the ceremonies. Now I'm a non-believer, why? Religion just doesn't make sense. That three in one and one in three gets by me. The ghost getting the girl pregnant, but the big guy taking the rap for it, is quite confusing.
You're absolutely right about the Atheist not being a slave to old fashioned superstitions, make believe, and fairy tales.

Whoa, back up Bud! Who said that it is a Christian's job to convert you? I know some organized religions and churchs say that, but convertion is not something that must be done. A person will come to Christ on their own or they won't. If someone has questions I would answer them the best that I could and encourage more study until they found what they were looking for, but I would never seek to convert their thinking. To me, that is just plain wrong. And Christians are not slaves to their religions. Some are slaves to their organized churches but NOT to Christianity. As to being Athiest, that is your choice. If you are happy in that, then I am happy for you.

Christianity and Atheism are not a question of slavery. True Christians don't look at their acts as "slavery," but a chance to do good. But everyone wants to have others share their beliefs, so anyone will convert anyone else if they get the chance.

As a Christian, MY job is only to tell others about my faith. Period, end of sentence. It's not my job to belittle them for their difference of opinion, or drag them kicking and screaming to the Altar for Baptism. Many Christians feel that IS their job, however, and go to great lengths to "force" others, when all they really have to do is live by example and "show" their love and faith in the way they treat and care for their fellow man. Because so many DO go overboard in their attempts to "convert" (kinda like my sister-in-law), many Atheists are so turned off by this pushy behavior that they go to the opposite extreme and try to "un-convert".
Christianity doesn't enslave me.......it actually frees me.

You are so right. I could care less if someone is a christian, however I know many Christians who try to spoon feed their crap down my throat. If you think Christ is a god great, I think he was a influential man. I can't think of any reason why an atheist would want to convert a christian I simply wouldn't waste my time it is their error not mine!

Maybe, the pagans anf atheists don't like their world being full of morons. Maybe, they're hoping that if they share their ideas some people will realize that they don't have to believe in some 2000+ year old psycho babble for god to like them, for them to like themselves. Maybe they don't want another person walking the streets converting innocent kids into mindless drones like them.

Imagine if I asked you what the square root of 476476987432 was?

And you said 30089. Now I did the math and found out you were incorrect, would you want to know?

Well I did the math.

2,500 Gods created by humans.

Chances of yours being right 1:2,500

Good luck.
