We strive to follow the Bible's principles. One such principle, is Bad associations spoil usefull habits. We try to keep this in mind. Obviously, everyone needs to show some discresion when deciding who to be around. One good thing to consider is, what are my personal values??? Will this person build me/them up or tear me/them down??

We feel it very important to have a personal relationship with God. ie Know his thoughts and feelings, as shown by the Bible. Since we wish to be close to him we feel it important too serve him, by following the principles and teachings as found in the Bible. We believe that Jesus, the son of God, died on a torture stake.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe it is wise to carefully select one's close associates. The religion does not encourage Witnesses to avoid non-Witnesses.

(1 Corinthians 15:33) Bad associations spoil useful habits.

(Proverbs 13:20) He that is walking with wise persons will become wise

Regarding "the cross", Jehovah's Witnesses believe the bible to plainly forbid idolatry of any kind, including the worshipful use of icons such as crucifixes.

(1 John 5:21) Guard yourselves from idols.

(Acts 17:29) We ought not to imagine that the Divine Being is like gold or silver or stone, like something sculptured by the art and contrivance of man

The exact shape of Christ's instrument of death is hardly a central doctrine of the faith, but Jehovah's Witnesses do happen to believe that Jesus was almost certainly impaled on a simple stake, rather than a cross of two intersecting beams. Of course the Romans had the ability to create a cross, and probably did. But ask yourself: why they would have bothered when a simple stake would have worked just as well or better?

The bible most assuredly does NOT offer any proof that the stake was actually a cross of two intersecting beams. The actual facts of the bible may be enlightening to examine...

You may be interested to see how your own copy of the bible translates Acts 5:30, Galatians 3:13, Deuteronomy 21:22, 23, and Acts 10:39. The King James, Revised Standard, Dyaglott, and Jerusalem Bible translate the instrument of Christ's death simply as "stake" or "tree" because the original wording simply does not support the idea that this was more than a piece of upright wood.

It is also eye-opening to examine how the first-century Christians felt about idols of any kind, much less one that glorified an instrument of death.

We believe that Jesus died on a torture stake for all of mankinds sins to be forgiven and for us to have the hope of living on a paradise earth like originally purposed. We believe that Jesus and God are separate rather than part of a Trinity. Jehovah is God's name (Psalms 83:18, Isaiah 43:10).

We follow the counsel given at 1 Corinthians 15:33 where it states: "Do not be misled. Bad associations spoil useful habits."
This doesn't necessarily mean we avoid associating with people who don't share out beliefs, but we avoid bas associations. Like any other human, we want to be around people who bring out the best in us, not the bad in us.

I have found the non-Christian religions, such as Jehovah Witnesses, to be philosophically indefensible, being internally incoherent or undermining human reason and experience. To better understand Jehovah Witnesses, I suggest you review the sites listed below.

The Watchtower’s version of the bible, New World Translation, alters biblical verses to match JW doctrines. For example, see John 1:1; John 17:3; Philippians 1:23; Colossians 1: 16; Hebrews 1:8 and compare it to any of the little green JW bibles.

They do not believe in the trinity. They do not believe Christ was anything more than a prophet. They are also confused as to who goes to heaven and base salvation on works. They are also confused on the scripture which speaks of drinking blood, they say it is you are not to have a blood transfusion. They are a cult since they deny the deity of Christ.

my beliefs:

From my diaries see the following in order to explain how some things glorify God as was commanded by bible...
Cows go Moo(Moo=Mo) meaning IVI sealed together o=Mo

Cats go Meow (IVI sealed together e(arm) ow=Meow)

Pigs go OINK where K IV I O=KNIO=OINK (note K originally hand written as my avatar shows.

Dogs go ARF (where A=/A, R=R\, thus ARF=/AR\(lARi))

Dogs go BARK=B/AR\K

Dogs go RUFF=I D\(sealed together)U [il [il (F=[il when read down)

Or Dogs go RUFF=ROUGH(ID\O(sealed together) U CuT H(H=GOD)

Thus the animal kingdom glorifies LORD GOD, why don't you?

Pavement and Doors glorify GOD as His I7 birthday.

So obviously the first commandment is fullfilled by the cows, cats, dogs, and pigs, because they verbally glorify the Larry TODD S. body.

now ain't that a funny thing that happened on the way to the penthouse forum?
