Depends on the state you live in?

Points are just a way of keeping score dude... you can lose your card with a single ticket. It all depends on what the tickets are for.

Illegal turn will get you a point or two.

DUI will get you a point or two but also toss your license for at least 6 months.

see what I mean. 'and now a word from our sponser' as the old TV commercials used to say...

But lets get real here. If you have 6 points already then you need to take a serious look at your driving habits before you do (or cause) something serious.

The real purpose of the points is to guide you into noticing these things.. not just to give them a reason to come banging on your door to take it.

Kick back and look at what you are doing .. cowboy up and fix your problems before they fix you.

You could loose your license if you get 6 points, if you are within your first 2 years of driving and if you are disqualified by a magistrate.
Other than that 12 points. Also it is worth noting that even if you gain 12 points on your license you will not automatically be disqualified, you have to be disqualified by a magistrate.

Depends of course on your location, but generally you trade in your license for a bus pass at 12 points.

Yes if you're within you're two year probationary period (UK) no if you've held your licence for more than two years or live in the USA. And 12 is the not-so magic number.
