Praying is a mental process that involves circulation and outflow of energy. This is verifiably the same process as meditation, chanting etc. The 'prayer' can often be shown to have positive influences in a recipient, if the recipient is opened to the mental energy flow. No deity is required for 'prayer' to work - it's people powered.

It's not mystical. Anyone with an EEG can measure it.

Wishing is just a thought.

Wishing means you would really like it, but do not expect it. Praying means you have more than a wish to go on, you have hope and a promise.
Wishing is usually to yourself, praying is having a converstion with the Creator one on one.
Hope that helps ~A~

Praying shows a humble dependence on God, wishing is not humble nor is it prayer, but more related to superstition.
