They can be, but apparently it doesn't always go along with getting older.
In his book "Better Than Ever", Bernie Zilbergeld (an accepted expert on sex, but a self-admitted klutz when it came to relationships), describes what he calls "non-lovers" and "lovers", with the hope that he and others of us like him could move from the first group to the second.
One thing that his research seemed to make pretty clear was that for the "lovers", love and sex could be even better as they got older. For the "non-lovers", if they didn't decide to do something about it, just getting older didn't offer any help.
In his book "Aging Well", George Vaillant, MD, describes "stable relationship" as one of the key factors to aging well, but that sounds suspiciously like declaring a truce and living together peacefully.
I like Zilbergeld's vision better.

no. i was with this guy who was 3 years older than me, and he was SUCH a bad kisser. now i'm with someone my age, and he is great. "older lovers make people who are more experienced in the ways of the world but not necessarily any smarter or any better in bed" should be the saying. being a good lover isn't all about experience, some of it is just innate. it also involves knowing how to treat people, and some people who are 3 times my age STILL don't know that.

Far from a fair statement. I'm currently dating an older man and he isn't the best lover I've been with. Not the worse but not the best. But I have to say this, so far, this has been the best relationship I've been in.

Depends how old you were when you had your first sexual experience? I was 15 she was 20. After that I had more and more women , slowly i began to notice little things that women like during lovemaking. Tenderness, Being gentle, taking your time, and throwing romance and passion into it. I have been with older folks that were really bad at lovemaking, some were good. But Don't become a tramp just to get experience. you will learn by trial end error.
Some older people are really bad kissers and do not know how to have good sex. Some younger ones have been incredible kissers and passionate about lovemaking .

Not necessarily.
Perfect practice prevents poor performance. (Ever heard that?).
Experience is great, if they are actually LEARNING from it. If someone is an inattentive lover, it doesn't matter if they've been "doing it" for 30 years, they still may not have learned much at all. If someone can pay attention to cues, they can have less experience and still be a great lover. It just depends!

*I am going to have to agree with that statement :) I am 21 and I am seeing a guy who is going on 30 now. I started seeing him last year when I was 20 and he was 29.
**And I must say WOW...he's good. And I think it might have to do with experience also, but at least from my experience with an older guy...it's been very good. I have no complaints.

Yes, only because they have more experience and are past the "sex is all about me" stage. They know that it's better to make it great for the woman too.
