Yes you can re-freeze it. Ham is pre cooked so it won't hurt. I do this all the time with my leftovers for when I make ham and bean soup later on. It's not going to hurt you.

Yes, you can refreeze the ham.
You kept the ham in the freezer and refrigerator so you don't have to worry about bacterial growth.
As mentioned, rewrap tightly to avoid freezer burn.
However, I wouldn't thaw and refreeze after this.
You'll start losing moisture from the ham with each freeze - thaw cycle.

I wouldn't do it because I am very picky on food safety. I would think the chemical react would cause problems from freezing, dethawing and refreezing

Yes. I do it all the time with a large ham over the holidays. But the texture degrades. The meat loses moisture.
