Most of my "Home AV" kit (Including my 42inch Plasma TV) only has a choice of "ON" or "Standby". It would be a nightmare to plug in and then re-program everything every time, so "Standby" it is.
In the Kitchen we do however have Energy Efficient Fridge/Freezer (settings optimised for Vegetarians), Energy Efficient Microwave Oven, Energy Efficient Washing Machine (only used for full loads) , Sensor Drier (only used when weather is bad), Energy Efficient Dishwasher (used once per day) and only boil water in required quantities
In the Bathroom we have an Electric Shower (Not Power-Shower) which we use in preference to the bath.
Through out the house, where possible we have energy Saver Bulbs, but also implement very low wattage localised lighting in the lounge for reading and general illumination. All other lighting is Halogen in both Lounge and Kitchen.
We have also replaced our Tower PC's and CRT monitors, with more energy efficient Laptops and modulate usage between mains and battery power as required.

Its not that I'm an "Eco Warrior" as some may say. Its more about saving my "Hard Earned Cash".
Efficiency = Savings.

TV disconnected when not in use. Low energy bulbs used on non dimming locations. Video recorders, sky box &c. left on standby as they don't work (timer features, loss of programming, damp in dish electronics) if powered down. Why it takes 10 watts or more to keep a video's clock running is unknown. Perhaps a little design thought is needed. Also remember that in winter anything left on standby adds heat to the house, so the power allegedly wasted actually reduces the heating bill a little.

Only turning my PC on when necessary to check e-mails or do a bit of surfing, looking for energy-efficient electronics, not leaving things on standby (after buying a plug-in power meter and being surprised by how many of my appliances were wasting power).

Nothing, i leave both my computers running all the time, and both monitors and 6 Network attached storages and 4 printers and a switch and a router, we have 3 tv's and they're all on standby all the time, as is the central heating.

Not really an eco-warrior me.

I always switch off all my TVs/computers as soon as I'm done and put stuff off at the plug too. I try not to use the lights that much now since it's getting lighter for longer. They only get switched on when I'm no the room :)

I keep things unplugged unless I'm using them because most of them use electricity all the time. It saves me up to 25% on my bills sometimes. I also have power save options on my laptop. And I use the economy cycles on my appliances.

Use low energy light bulbs. When buying large electrical items check the energy efficiency ratings on the box.

Never leave anything on standby, only use lights where necessary. The only thing I leave on for extended periods is my PC

I unplug TV, DVD player, computer, etc when I go away on vacation. Otherwise, I don't really do much.
