how come we can't believe in him after we die? certainly someone as all-knowing as he must realize that he'll have more believers in the afterlife if he actually exists.

jim b... that sorta contradicts what most born agains will say. according to them, they KNOW god exists because he revealed himself to them. now, if god revealed himself to me, i certainly wouldn't deny his existence. but until then i'll remain a skeptic.

tom b... are you suggesting the spirit of god CAN'T do some things? is that to say god has his limitations?

WAY too philosophical a question for Christians. If you're not careful, you might make them think.

Not sure I understand what you mean by can't believe after we die. I believe after we die, if we accepted Jesus we will be w/ him, there's no other way. The bible says in spirit 1st then, when Jesus returns fro his people in body. Oh I'd love to debate this w/ you. It's more simple than most christians will explain to you. You know of coarse that God gave you free will to choose or not to choose him/jesus, that's how much he loves us. He will not force you to believe or accept him. Your curious so, I feel that's God pulling @ your heart. Also, just because you're a Christian doesn't mean good/bad won't happen, we're the same just forgiven when asking. When I think about the theory of evolution, I wander how could anyone believe that. When something's evolved ie like apes that means they change & no longer are apes. So, why are apes still here in existence? The other thing I want to say to non believers is what do you have to loose? If you accept Jesus Christ & try his way he will reveal himself to you. I've been thru major ups & downs in my life & hurt by the very people that claim they love me. But, when you're all alone @ night or when & wherever & you have no one else & nothing else people will always leave you, God will not. He will never abandon you no matter what you do. After all, when things go terribly wrong in the world or in our own lives who do we cry out to, God? That's his holy spirit pulling at us to know him. I hope this helps. I'm not perfect I make mistakes too & sin, ask for forgivess & try harder. The bible says when Jesus returns the holy spirit will be taken away too. Then they'll be nothing left to try to help others be good, & it will be that much harder, people will have to be martyred to be w/ him & not accept the beast. Don't you want to try to insure your afterlife? It takes more than being a good person, you just have to ask Christ into your heart. I hope this helps. Blessings!

It is no good saying you choose to bow the knee when it has buckled and refuses to hold you up!

You see, God is after more than mere intellectual assent, a point which seems lost on a large part of the American church. We have been, unfortunately, very effective in communicating this untruth to the unbelievers as witnessed by the number of questions I see posed along the lines of "just believing." What He is after is entire surrender of rebellion and complete laying down of your arms. He wants you to sign up as His ambassador to spread the news of the coming Kingdom. He wants you to be unashamedly for what He is for and against what He is against. He wants entire allegiance and completely committed faithful, married style love. Think what woman would marry a man who says at the altar, "I do, but do I have to give up my other girlfriends? Can't I just believe in your loving forgiveness?"

Your question has merit - I encourage you to dig a bit deeper. Taking the Lord's name in vain is something much of the American church is guilty of. This doesn't merely mean wishing that God would damn something, no! It also means taking on His name (ie saying I am a Christian) and then living as if it were not true.

So you basically want to party and do things your way until the very end and change your mind and get the goods at the end too? There is a reason it's done the way it's done. Your time to make a choice is HERE and NOW, not when you stand in front of the throne of judgment. "Make peace with your brother on the way to the courthouse that way you are not given to the bailiff and tossed into prison, surely you will not be released until you have paid back every cent."

That is a very lovely thought, but it's not how it works. What would be the point of the salvation we are offered through Jesus Christ if anyone could just waltz into heaven after a lifetime of hating God and living in complete rebellion against Him, claiming He never existed, wallowing in sin and hateful actions and words? People don't understand that God has ALREADY given us a chance...and this life is it! You cannot say He is an unfair God since He has given you a chance. This chance is on His terms...it is not catered to our selfish ways.

God for the most part i dont think would be better or worse off either way, whether you believe in him or not..Surely if u deny it till your dead when you stand in front of him ye can no longer deny it.. So therefore if he would not be different either way then the profit in believing or not must be ours. For one we can be guided in all truth till we eventually come to a perfect knowledge with a sureness as bright as the noon day sun..Or we can wander thru life uncertain what is and what shall be and become discouraged in all our doings that sadness overtaketh us

it is a matter of faith . you will not even see Christ in the afterlife if you don't have faith. So your scenario is not even possible. I could type a long explanation and then you would understand but i don't think you are interested. One hint, "many will come to the gate, but few will enter therein". Do you have faith enough to enter the gate?

Believing in deities and being aware of divine truths are different things.

when you die the spirit of God comes to you and leads you to heaven, if your not connected to the spirit in this life then it CANT take you to heaven when you pass on from this world.if your thrown a line while you float down a river ,and you refuse that line then thats your decision .

It's faith that saves a person not knowledge. As you stand there before Him the time for faith has past you will know for a fact what is happening around you.. The Bible says by grace through save we are saved.. It doesn't say by grace through knowledge... Jim

once you have the proof where does the faith come from? therefore if you cannot have faith in what you cannot see, then He will not give you the opportunity after youve seen to come...its fair and pure justice to an individual whose been sinning and denying God all their lives..
