well according to them, they were from apes. they have no souls, and this is the only life they're living for. i say, when they die, they shouldn't expect remorse from anyone. they're basically saying they have no souls.

weeelllll.... if you insist. meantime, i know i'm fearfully & wonderfully made :)

PS: being humanist does not necessarily mean being moral. Humanists can’t even agree whether abortion or divorce is right or wrong. The Bible speaks of only one Truth, which stands time & time again.

GO AHEAD, THUMB-DOWN YOUR HEART AWAY.

No morals or values? How stupid. I am a firm non-believer and the thought of murdering a human or animal is repulsive to me. Jeffrey Daimler had a loose belief in Christianity.
I'm more of a prude sexually than some Christians. Morals and values are determined more by social influence and/or fear.
For instance, if a person kills someone, whether the murderer is Christian or not, they still have to deal with the family/friends of the deceased. Same with sex...if a person sleeps around a lot, whether they're Christian or not, they still run the risk of catching an STD.
Actually, since this is the only life I have proof of, I'm probably going to value it more than a person who thinks/believes they have a great life waiting for them. In fact, I'm surprised more Christians don't commit suicide. However, even they believe it's immoral.

Although I am a Christian, I disagree with the premise that atheists are always immoral. They do not have the same moral compass that a Christian does, but I am certain they still know right from wrong and often make good decisions based on that knowledge. People are people and we ALL are sinners...whether they believe in God or do not. That doesn't change the fact. The difference between an atheist and a true Christian (one with a personal relationship with God/Jesus), is that the atheist does not have the wonderful priviledge of having God and Jesus walking with them daily in the form of the Holy Spirit. It is that fact that makes life worth living. Otherwise, what is the point of living at all? Why suffer pain...why be sick....why risk our lives for others etc. There would be no reason.

There is no difference between an atheist and an animal, just as there's no difference between a Christian and an animal. We're all just fancy monkeys.

As for atheists not having morals: you're assuming the worst about people. Your religion teaches you that people basically evil, and that if they didn't have a God keeping them in line, they'd run around killing, raping, and robbing. That's just not true. Personally, those things don't bring me pleasure. Hurting other people doesn't bring me pleasure. So why would I do those things?

You are typical of ignorant religious freaks. Where do you get this B.S. that Atheists do not have morals. I'll stack my morals up against any Jesus-freak. Any of you superstitious ah-souls who are moral because you're afraid of being sent to hell if you're not, are not really moral at all.
I'm one hundred percent moral because it's right. My religious friends and neighbors know this, and it drives some of them nutty. It bothers them to know someone can be trusted far more than they.
The church tells people that it teaches morals, so if you don't go to church, you must be immoral. That's a good line of thinking for idiots.
So what's the difference between a jesus-freak and an nut-house inmate ?

Actually, every human is an animal. It's a shame that you represent a stereotype many people have of religious folk (uneducated, esp regarding basic biology).

Since theists believe in an afterlife, this life means nothing to them.

Since theists must believe in a sky-daddy boogie man to make them moral, they are truly less moral than the atheists.

have you ever met an atheist? who said atheist's have no moral values? morals are not bound by christians alone. why do you have to believe in an omnipotent invisible all supreme being to have morals? do you believe that you are somehow better than atheist's? after all you must think you are superior to ask such a question. and if being a christian is the end all be all of humanity i would rather be an animal!!!!

Too many people in this world judge others by what religion they are, or if they believe in the same God as others. This world would be a better place if we all stopped looking at skin color, race, and most important religion, instead of who prays to what. Become part of the solution in this world and start to treat everyone as humans instead of religious and non religious the same. If People practiced the two faced religious beliefs that i see so many preach instead of praying and observing God and Jesus Christ that one or times a year. What makes these so called Christian's so different than atheist when they are out sinning before and after Mass? I see men doing so many non-religious acts , then they preach to the rest of us when they should practice it first before Judging others.

Just because someone doesn't follow a religious doctrin does not mean that they lack respect for human life or have no morals. The question is dangerously close to the attitude that early americans had towards the African slaves they shipped in.

Who says moral values are meaningless to an athiest? This is the most uninformed bigoted opinion I have heard in the last 7 minutes. How does believing in an invisible man, thinking an ancient book of myths is holy, and being bigoted toward other people make one more "human"

I have more morals then most christians do. I have never cheated on my husband....I have never comitted a crime...I help my neighbors when they are in need....I have raised a respectful, loving daughter.
I don't think being a christian automatically makes you a moral person....Just like being an atheist automatically makes you an immoral person.
You really need to get your facts straight before you throw statements like that around.
