Your "deductable" will be higher than the cost of the repair.
Fix it yourself.

You need to report it, even if you intend to pay for the repair yourself. ALWAYS report any kind of accident involving another vehicle to your insurance company immediately. That other guy could change his mind when he gets home, or he could wake up with a headache or a stiff neck tomorrow and decide to sue you. Your insurance company will take care of that, but if you don't notify them in a timely fashion, they could deny you coverage.

Whether you decide to fix it yourself or put in a claim will depend on how much it's going to cost, and what your deductible is.

fix it yourself. You probably only have to push it out. Your dad could probably do it. Buy some compound too. You damage would probably be less than what they'll pay anyways. So do it yourself or leave it and take pics, in case another accident occurs in the future with that car.

Yes, since you were at fault you should let your insurance know. If the person you hit doesn't file against you, no problem. If he does, they will be ready. as far as fixing your damage on collision, it would depend on the cost of your repairs and your deductible amount.

If you live in the state of UTAH and you fail to report the accident and they find out later you could lose your license your car and even do time in the slammer.

I have been in driver education--training class twice.
