I highly doubt that mainstream artists will ever apologize for ANY of the stuff they do these days. It's a lot more complicated than saying who can say what word to whom (in terms of the "N-word") It's also about these so called rappers that were brought up with the mindset to continue fighting a constant struggle and shouting black power and so on. I'm not saying there isn't a struggle, I'm saying there are people trying to fight the struggle and/or oppression but they don't know exactly what they're fighting, therefore they go along with the uninformed masses and "fight" by using words that are detrimental to their own race and at the same time offending other races.
It should be unacceptable but because there are so many people that are neutral or indifferent, nothing gets done, hell is not raised and nothing happens.

I don't think They will ever apologize. And I don't think it is acceptable for ANY race to be racist against other races, or their own.
I never listen to rap, so I don't know much about it. But my impression is the rappers who are out there spreading messages of hate and using racial slurs that are derogatory against their OWN race are not a fair representation of their race as a whole. I am not black, but I imagine that if I were, I would be embarrassed by the way these rappers represent the race.

Apologize? I highly doubt that will happen anytime soon, so do not hold your breath. Any speech, media, music, advertisement or the such that promotes the denigration of a group of people based on race, sex, religious preference, sexual orientation, eye color, or what have you should be outlawed. Yes, this is America. Yes we do and are entitled to free speech. But free speech should also be coupled with decency, meaningful thought process, respect and discretion. In this country and today's world that does not seem to be happening. Too many irresponsible people have big voices and they do not care what they say or do. Public figures with huge influence and large voices should exercise some restraint and think long before they open their mouths, regardless of race or the like.

I Agree with you. In the past few years i have heard rappers get worse with the racial slurs being used , the community which they are rapping about picks up this slang and have begun to speak in a way which makes that person sound uneducated , unemployable, and speaking a different type of English which the average person does not Identify with and is not a mainstream language. The ethnic groups wonder why they are not accepted by the masses. People need to take a close look at themselves and the reasons why some of the community has stepped backwards instead of moving forward. Be proud of whom you are not insult each other and call each one racial slurs. Lead and teach by positive examples if one wants to get ahead in society.

We can complain all we want but as long as America keeps buying their stuff, We can't stop them. Majority of the people buying their music are white. You would think they would be outraged like you but NO. They continue to buy music that degrades women and tosses slurs. Eminem says slurs as well yet I see only black rappers. Eminem, like many rappers, throws the N-word around with ease yet he makes who knows how much off of his music and movies. The rappers(what ever color they may be) are only there for the money. As long as people keep buying their records, the big label companies will continue to sell it. I don't see any one boycotting these record companies. You don't go after the product but the seller. Just like one boycotts to MSNBC to get Imus off of the show, one should Boycott the big label companies to get these rappers who degrade others off of their labels.
We don't need their apology. We need them to stop selling the stuff. You don't go after the drugs but the drug dealer. You don't go after the rapper but the one who is selling the rapper.

Unfortunately, they will ride this wave until someone with very high music credentials finally addresses the industry with the fact that this isn't really music. As a musician, it is insulting to hear this and having to accept it as music. So, after addressing someone who likes it, they told me, "OK, it isn't music, it is just part of our culture in words."
OK, then why do we allow it into the music category? Wikipedia------>
Music is an art form that involves organised sounds and silence. It is expressed in terms of pitch (which includes melody and harmony), rhythm (which includes tempo and meter), and the quality of sound (which includes timbre, articulation, dynamics, and texture).

No they will probably never do that, because most of them are so lost that nothing else in life matters to them except wealth in money and fame whether they be famous or infamous. I believe that there are more white ppl. being victims of racial slander than there are against black ppl. and it is ridiculous. I don't discriminate against ppl. for race, religion, whatever...and I fell that I live a much happier life without it.

I don't think rappers will ever apologize because to rappers its not a racial slur...its apart of hip hop....its apart of our culture....yeah its bad that we as black people have adopted the slur as a acceptable word....but these are different times and the words are now acceptable.......

Get over it whitey! You are not black and therefore do not have the right to say anything about something you don't understand. Blacks are stupid for using the same terms but everyone insults there own kind sometimes. It is just human nature.
It's crazy how questions like these prove how you white people want to use these racial slurs. You are just angry because you aren't allowed to use it.
