It is just a little cloth sack usually made out of cheesecloth or a 'loose' fabric used to hold herbs and such for stews and soups. I have found that using my metal 'tea ball' works better because I can reuse it,and I can clean it easier as well. It also has holes to infuse the stew/soup with your choice of herbs, which is, afterall, the point.

Its a bag for straining/squeezing coconut milk in Asian cooking. Material should be like baby diaper cotton.

We call it cheese cloth or it has big holes or a fabic with holes and use it to make cheese or strain stuff.
