if i have brown dark hair should i highlight it or not?

Are you bored with your hair? Do you want a change? If yes, then highlights would probably be a fine idea.

Is your hair warm toned (reddish untones) or cool toned (more ashen, little/no red)? Dark brown hair can be either way.

Most colored highlights look beautiful with dakr brown hair. If your hair is warm toned, you could go with golden blond colors, coppery reds, and warm lighter browns. If your hair is more cool, then you could go with platinum blonds, reds (for a contrast), or lighter cool browns. Of course, make sure any highlights you add with compliment your skin as well. For instance, I have warm brown hair but golden toned skin, so golden-tones highlights are out for me unless I wanna look jaundiced. XD

On dark brown hair (especially when it is straight) I really love the look of a light golden brown highlight in a really thin layer on top. The key is to do, like I said, a very thin layer of hair. It's really such a subtle look that it is somehow striking in itself!

if you're feeling bored with you hair you should just do it.
But keep in mind that you will have to keep rehighlting every month or so(depending on how fast it grows) and when you want to get rid of them you'll have to die your hair one solid color.

no u've got natural colour so try to be in ur real self why go for artificial beauty u r lucky enough to be blessed with real brown colour
