"A" is a general term, not referencing a specific item. If there were more than one host of the show, you could use "a".

"The" references a specific item. If Nicole is the only host of the show, you could use "the".

Either could be correct in your example. It just depends what exactly you are trying to say.

If Nicole is the only host, then : Nicole is THE host of a television show on the Men & Motors Network.
If Nicole is not the only host, it would be correct to use "a"...

If Nicole is the only host of that television show, use 'the'. If she is one of a number of hosts, use 'a'.

Either can be correct. If Nicole is the only host of the show, then you would use "the," but if there are other hosts, you would use "a."

Your example should use the word "the". That is assuming that Nicole is the only host. If Nicole is one of many hosts then the word "a" would be appropriate.

I am not a grammarian (an expert in English grammar) but it is my feeling that the word "the" in this sentence would connote that there is only one host and that she is it. The word "a" would connote that there may be more than one host and she is only one of many.

If you say that she is a host...., then she is one of several.
If you say that she she is the host....., then she is the one and only host.

Either works, but use "the" in this case.

"The" is when there is only one of something... "feed the dog" means there is only one dog which it is plausible for the listener to feed (so one dog in the house.)

"feed a dog" means there are lots of dogs and the listener only has to feed one of them...
