I'm Irish,and if I had to choose between the two , I would say Scotland.

Born and raised in England but given the choice I'd prefer to be in Scotland. I visit maybe 10 or 20 times a year and the people are very freindly and it's a a much better quality of life. It seems that in recent years England has really gone down hill but Scotland has, to a large extent, avoided that.

At the end of the day I guess it's personal preference that decides.
