Imagine that true religion is food, and false religion is poison. Would you want to take a taste of the poison?

The worse that can happen sampling various cuisines is an upset stomach. We have Pepto-Bismol for that.
Trying out different religions has eternal consequences.
Why do you think there are so many? It is to keep people from the Truth.
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)
Now, either He lied, was completely deceived, or He told the Truth. Plus, all but one of His disciples suffered torturous deaths with "Jesus is risen!" on their lips. They could have recanted if it had been a lie, and lived the rest of their lives, but willingly chose death. No one does that for a lie that they know to be a lie.

Fortunately our bodies know what to do with the garbage.
I was raised in a Christian family that attended a Pentecostal denomination. (I do not agree with the denominational segregation that has taken place). So our religion is based on the Holy Bible. I would never consider changing to Buddhist or Hindu or other man-made religion. ie:Davidians
There is too much genuine (scientific) evidence to support the Bible & its truths. With this in mind I would never ever change unless I missed some personal Biblical truth that tells me different.

Religions hate that. You may find out that there is no religion on earth, none, that is totally true. All religions have falsehoods in them, and the real truth is a combination of religions rather than just one. Of course, if you discover that, then the religions would no longer get your money and that's just not what they want. Souls don't matter anymore, just bucks.

You try different cuisines because you are searching for that one thing you like, that your body appetizes. But if you notice once you find something "favorite" on the menu, rarely will you try something else.
Religions are not to be "tried out", to see if it is good to me or fits my social needs or my personal agenda, there should be a faith base so strong that no matter what presents itself it continues to feed you like that "favorite" plate. And like that "favorite" plate continue to feed off it until the end of time.
Live the Gospel, thanks for the opportunity to spread truth.

You should try other religions. I suggest you do a lot of research into and choose the religion that you agree with. You don't want to join a religion that asks you to do things you disagree with.
A lot of religions are similar. I was born Church of England and now go to Church of Scotland services because they are more traditional and more reverrent to God.

Some people would say that religion is of more consequence than a meal. A religious choice can have lifetime, even eternal, ramifications. Now, I don't agree with that, but that's the idea. And what really gets me is, usually the people saying that want you to "just try" their church!

It's all to do with the "personal comfort zone".
We are perfectly comfortable (most of us) trying new food types, but religions are in a much narrower part of our make-up, and we're less liely to change unless some compelling theological reason is placed before us, and we subsequently accept this new philosophy!

It's ok by me. By checking out various different expressions of human spirituality, you educate yourself on certain universal truths. Those who would say it's not ok must have a extremist view, like their faith is the One True Faith, all others faiths are False and Paths to Damnation, and that you risk your very soul by exploring spirituality instead of just following their crowd and taking their word for it.

Food is real. Religion is made up.
You can try another culture's food and decide what you like on your own.
You can't try another person's religion and decide what you like on your own because by the rules of one you're most likely going to hell (or something) for trying the other.
