The idea that our bodies are "out of balance" in terms of pH and that we somehow must add chemicals to it to rebalance it is foolish propaganda sold to the public by quack salespeople. The body already has a means to achieve
"pH balance" using the a buffer of carbonic acid/bicarbonate. In fact, if we were even slighty off balance in terms of pH, our cells would soon die because most of our enzymes only work within a narrow pH range. Unless your body is undergoing some major stress (you are in shock, for example) your pH is in balance. If you have excess stomach acid, take Tums. Otherwise, don't bother with what you hear on TV about having too much acid. It's nonsense that sounds so scientific that many people assume it must be true.

Short term treatment with alkaline mixtures is OK, and for long term, change the diet. Look in www.amazon.com for books on acid-alkaline foods. I can give you more information if needed. In general, more vegetables will make your body alkaline (less acid).
