I totally agree with the decision. I know what it's like to not be able to have kids and have gone through ivf treatment and have seen healthy embryos destroyed just because they didn't advance quickly enough to suit the clinics criteria so I know what it's like to see your hopes dashed and your babies lost. However, I do think that the man here has the right not to become a father against his will and as harsh as it is for Natallie to accept then I'm affraid she's going to have to. How would we react if a man was trying to force a woman into motherhood? There is a definite imbalance in the way we think about this I think.
But, I do want to add, that people suggesting adoption as an answer makes me cross. If she has said she's willing to adopt than all well and good but if what a person really wants is there own biological child then adoption is the wrong option and unfair to any children out there wanting to be somebody's first choice and not their last resort.

Natalie Evans should be entitled to use the embryo's as they are her eggs and as such they are hers. The boyfriend's part in this procedure was minimal and in supplying his semen on request, it certainly was not some accident. If any boyfriend has the right to decide when he wants to become a father, then why doesn't he have the right to decide whether his girlfriend should take the 'after-pill' or have an abortion when the pregnancy is unintentional. There seem to be two different laws here. Under the law of equal rights, how can this decision be seen to be equal??? Give her, the last chance she has of producing her own child - her equal rights.

I feel for Natalie Evans, I really do, but I feel the European Court have made the right decision. Natalie had argued that it was her human right to use the frozen embryos and have a bilogical child, but to have a child is a privilege, not a right. Unfortunately for her it just wasn't meant to be but I hope she fulfils her wishes of becoming a mother and considers adoption in the future.

I can see both sides but to say she can adopt doesn't cut it. It's not easy to adopt a new born and anyway, the need to carry a baby can be so strong, to give birth etc.
I can't imagine not having experienced it but was lucky, I have 3 beautiful kids and fell pregnant quickly each time I wanted one.
To have your destiny in someone Else's hands as she has found hers, especially when she's been through so much.
Hope she has loads of luck in the future.
To know your last chance of being pregnant with your own child is being flushed away must be heart breaking.

This is a tough thing to deal with for the woman, but if their relationship is no more then the man has a right to say yes or no, and because he said no i think the decision was right the embryo's should be destroyed

I think that the right decision was made. They chose to freeze those fertilized embryo's together, now that they are no longer together neither should be able to use them. I sympathise with her situation, but if it was the other way around & he wanted to use them with a new partner I am sure that she wouldn't be happy about it.
Hopefully she will be able to adopt, as there are lots of lovely children out there who need a mother.

I would imagine that there are laws in place to protect both parties in a case like this.( a couple breaks up and who gets the embryo) Laws are made to be devoid of human emotion and so laws can appear to be applied without bias. I think the decision was fair.

I think that the guy (her ex) is a complete tosser for doing this to her ... she should be allowed to have that chance of carrying her own child .. the embryos will now be destroyed i cant even imagine how heartbroken she must feel ....

He has the right to decline and she has the right to want children. There are many children out there looking for a loving home. A child does not have to come from your body for you to love as your own, I know.

My heart goes out to her. They were her embryos too, not just her exs. I hope she can find the strength to go forward with her life. Her ex is one sick puppy to do that to her.
