Why would only Christians or Americans express gratitude for food? I know plenty of Buddhists who are in the habit of praying for the whole supply chain from the farmer to the baker or chef for each meal. Being grateful builds good karma.

Not in general. However, a prayer at an official meal is usually recognized and praises the good lord for all that he provides, including delecious cookies.

No, I do not. I make prayer a regular habit. I do say thank you to the person who either made the cookies or brought them.

Hehe I don't think that I do unless they are really, really good. Ya know, gotta give credit to the person who actually cooked them up--- they didn't fall from the sky! But, sometimes, it's "thank you Jesus, these cookies are AMAZING!"

Hehe what a silly question :)

We Christians, thank God for the food and ask Him to bless the food.We also add that all the people of the world may get food as we have.So we remember God and also poor people when we have food.( whatever may be the food). It is right thing to praise the Lord for whatever we have.

I am smart ,I pray over what I eat.I ask God to bless it,cleans it,and use it to strength me.
Many have died from eatting food that has gone bad.
It would be stupid not to ask God to bless it.
Christians from all over the world pray over food not just American.<><
