I believe you are smarter than you are giving yourself credit for. Taking a test that has so much riding on it requires a lot of concentration and I am sure that because it is so important for you that you get to nervous to concentrate. The answers are all there in your brain. continue studying for the test but take some breathing exercises and learn to relax . Get a good nights sleep the night before.. and don't worry about it..Just answer the question and go on to the next one. you will be surprised how it works.

Ok, relax.
Now, when I took the SATs there was just math and verbal, a max of 800 each. Schools don't teach you everything that you need unfortunately, but the good news is - they keep your HIGHEST scores - so take the test as MANY TIMES AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN - in the next town, the next county; as many times as you can.
Scholarship money starts at a combined score of 1000, and it REALLY rolls in at 1200. There's other scholarships, state and federal student aid, scholarships from the school itself, and student loans - I did them ALL.
Also, many schools now recognize that the SATs aren't always an accurate measure of a student's full potential - now there are the ACTs - I have never taken those, ask your guidance counselor about these. Your guidance counselor should also be able to guide you to free study groups and SAT score improvement programs - I'm SURE you are not the first person to ever ask.
Stay relaxed, go to bed early the night before and the night before that. If you're nervous and know you won't be able to sleep, try taking a Unisom a WEEK before - to see if it agrees with you, then take it two nights before, and the night before. Eat well, bring snacks and drinks - but don't overdo it either - you don't want to be ducking out into the bathroom every five minutes.
Read all the instructions carefully - in my day alot of people screwed up royally because they confused the SYNONYMS section with ANTONYMS (which is no longer a part of the test, at least that's what I heard).
When you are tested for reading comprehension, read the QUESTIONS first, then the paragraph - so you know what you're looking for.
If you need more info or have questions, write me privately.

do as many SAT practice questions as u can , that's all u can really do . Don't worry about it , just relax and focus , i was stressed out too lol. The last exam i took was Jan 27 did better than my first so don't worry, but study hard especially the math , sometimes for the critical reading u should use the method of elimination if ur stuck in the test.

Hey, don't be upset. Those tested are designed to push you to your limit.
I suggest going to you library/used book store` and getting a study book for the SAT. Try to find one written by Kaplan. Then sit down and actually go through the book. Spend a week on each section. Those books really help.

Get a SAT workbook or software program so you can brush up in the QA format of the test. It isn't your lack of knowledge it is the style in which the test is written. You can even get Sample SATs at many libraries - be confidant in the style of the test and it will be easier to pass. Good Luck!

I know exactly how you feel. I didn't do to hot on the test the first time around either. you can go to almost any book store like Barnes and noble or borders and buy a SAT assessment book. this book gives you study tips and like six different practice test. if you get like your mom or dad to give you the practice test and time you as if it were the real thing.

Some good suggestions already, but I'd like to add one more. Try to relax, and be calm. Tell yourself you can do it, then study. Study in a quiet, non-distracting place, and take breaks every once in awhile. Relax! You'll be fine!
