My husband and I are celebrating our 5th anniversary downtown chicago this summer. We have play tickets too, so we don't want to go out of our way to eat, but we want a good dinner. We aren't super fancy people, and don'e like to spend a fortune on dinner. We love unique and no-chain places. Any suggestions in the Water Tower area?

There's (or maybe used to be) this excellent Greek restaurant located in the Embassy Suites on the North side. It's upscale casual. And the Water Tower was within walking distance. This was for my first honeymoon.

Try Bistro 110 (110 E Dearborn), for the atmosphere of an authentic French bistro. Or, check out the House of Blues for some smokin' Cajun food (329 N Dearborn). Sometime when you don't have such a focused neighborhood in mind, try Geja's Cafe in the 300 block of W. Armitage. Fondue place with a strolling Flamenco guitar player. Very unique!

Try Grand Lux Cafe on Ontario and Michigan. Or Heaven On Seven on Rush & Ohio. Do go to the Signature Lounge on top of the John Hancock Building on Michigan. It's a spectacular view and very romantic! Enjoy.
