It would have been more informative if they had listed the brands they tested. But thanks for the heads up anyway !
I filter my water at home, but sometimes buy a bottle of Aquafina when I'm traveling. Would be curious to see how that was rated.

In the United States, bottled water is regulated by the FDA, while tap water is regulated by the EPA. The EPA has a full staff nationwide to ensure that all tap water meets Safe Drinking Water Act standards. The FDA, on the other hand, is preoccupied with drugs and food recalls and hardly monitors bottled water unless there is a complaint or an outbreak of disease.

I've heard stuff like that years ago. I drink it 'cause it's convenient, not because I've ever believed it was more healthy than tap water. And indeed, as the article said, tap water often isn't 100% pure either. Nor are most other food items or drinks; almost any time anything is tested, it turns out there are contaminants in it. I just don't worry much about it, I try to eat and drink pretty healthy in general -good servings of veggies and fruit, no excess of fast food or fat- but I've never believed my food to be 100% clean and free of all chemicals, bacteria, bugs, etc etc.

I believe this depends on the water brand. If it is Zephyrhills, Fiji, Evian, the high quality SPRING water does not have this. Aquafina, Dasani and filtered or mineral water must be the ones that are being repackaged! Also the plastic depends alot on the water source, the milky plastic is bad and toxic, look for the #1 in the triangle and clear plastic

I prefer my tap filtered water from home. I bottle some every time I go out. I was chocked when I found out the source of Dasani and Aqua Fina. The only bottled water that I like is Evian.

Pretty funny eh??
Paying for bottled water has long been a joke. It's occasionally nice to have a good cold bottle of water - definitely better than drinking a coke or something.
I remember we had sparkletts when I lived in cali because the tap water tasted like crap - my dads boss was joking about it one day (apparently he hadn't ever lived anyplace else and didn't know the difference).
He told me that I couldn't tell the difference between the bottled water and tap water.
I said - ok, you are on.
First he was like 'well - duh, you'll be able to tell because it's coming out of the cooler', so I said - we're about to have to switch bottles anyway, and grabbed a fresh one that was at room temperature and let him pour one glass from it, and one from the tap while I was out of the room.
I walked in, picked up the first one - and said 'city water'.
He couldn't believe it.

I'm not surprised. I rarely drink bottled water unless it is the only option when I'm out and about. Besides I can get my recommended daily allowance of arsenic by drinking the local water.
