In heaven, one is in the presence of God, seeing Him as He is. This is what makes Heaven heaven. Hell, is what it is on account of a complete lack of God's presence. Hell is the one place where there is no semblance of God's presence whatsoever. Souls in hell are completely cut off from God. These are, in my personal opinion, the most important theological Truths having to do with why heaven and hell are what they are.
When one accepts these Truths, they cannot help but share them with others, particularly those who are not necessarily aware of such things.
Jesus teaches, "Freely you have received, now freely give." This is what Catholics, any Christians for that matter, are doing when they are out actively evangelizing.
No Christian beliefs atheists lack souls. All people have a soul. The manner in which one lives out their earthly life can determine the quality of their souls' everlasting life after their earthly death.
This is why so many Christians are concerned about the spiritual well-being of their atheistic neighbors.

First, everyone has a soul, including atheists.
The Catholic Church believes in and teaches the literal reality of Heaven and Hell.
HEAVEN
1023 Those who die in God's grace and friendship and are perfectly purified live for ever with Christ. They are like God for ever, for they "see him as he is," face to face:598
By virtue of our apostolic authority, we define the following: According to the general disposition of God, the souls of all the saints . . . and other faithful who died after receiving Christ's holy Baptism (provided they were not in need of purification when they died, . . . or, if they then did need or will need some purification, when they have been purified after death, . . .) already before they take up their bodies again and before the general judgment - and this since the Ascension of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ into heaven - have been, are and will be in heaven, in the heavenly Kingdom and celestial paradise with Christ, joined to the company of the holy angels. Since the Passion and death of our Lord Jesus Christ, these souls have seen and do see the divine essence with an intuitive vision, and even face to face, without the mediation of any creature.599
HELL
1035 The teaching of the Church affirms the existence of hell and its eternity. Immediately after death the souls of those who die in a state of mortal sin descend into hell, where they suffer the punishments of hell, "eternal fire." The chief punishment of hell is eternal separation from God, in whom alone man can possess the life and happiness for which he was created and for which he longs.
God bless.

+ Heaven and Hell +
Heaven is eternal life with God; communion of life and love with the Trinity and all the blessed.
Heaven is the state of supreme and definitive happiness, the goal of the deepest longings of humanity.

+ Hell +
Hell is the state of complete and final self-exclusion from communion with God and the blessed, reserved for those who refuse by their own free choice to believe and be converted from sin, even to the end of their lives
I like to think of it this way. The only way a person will go to hell is if they want to.
God in His (or Her) unlimited love has given us free will to choose. Our most important choice is to freely decide to accept or reject God's constant offer of spending eternity with Him in heaven. God will respect the choice to reject Him.

+ Heaven vs. Hell +
A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said, "Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like." The Lord led the holy man to two doors. He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water.
The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful, but because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths. The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering. The Lord said, "You have seen Hell."
They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking.
The holy man said, "I don't understand."
"It is simple" said the Lord, "it requires but one skill. You see, they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves."
+ Souls +
Catholics believe that all human beings are endowed with an immortal soul at the moment of conception (even Atheists).
Catholics believe that the soul is the spiritual part of a human.
The soul is the essential nature of human consciousness and freedom.
Soul and body together form one unique human being.
Each human soul is individual and immortal, immediately created by God at the moment of conception.
The soul does not die with the body, from which it is separated by death, and with which it will be reunited in the final resurrection.

a million- God in His mercy will take those youthful ones to heaven right this moment- there is an age of duty- and God knows whilst that's achievable for a newborn to return to understand Christ. 2- it a mentally challenged guy or woman isn't waiting to understand who Christ is, of course they could be in heaven. even if, i understand an spectacular team of mentally challenged human beings, who've a ministry at a church that I as quickly as attended- and that i visit tell you this- they worship God with such exhilaration and humility- wish we'd do this as freely. 3- study Romans financial ruin a million- it says that everybody can see the data of God in the event that they seem- even if if for some reason somebody never heard approximately Jesus- God could take them to heaven. 4- in the event that they have been real born back believers- they could be in heaven. Jesus died to maintain them from sin, no count if each sin replace into confessed of or no longer. that doesn't propose we are in a position to proceed blatantly in our sin as believers. 5- toddlers, in the event that they die and are not baptized would be in heaven. Baptism does not, the two as a newborn or as an grownup save every physique. Like a prior questions- toddlers can't be held to blame. 6- The unforgivable or blasphemous sin is to disclaim the holy spirit- and in the event that they do this they are going to never replace into believers. If for some reason somebody concept that they committed it and conventional Christ they could be in heaven. no person that has truly committed it is going to ever think of they choose Jesus. 7- at first, believing in Jesus and Christianity won't unavoidably be salvation. WHY? as a results of fact even devil believes that and he will never be there the two. Why do i think the way that I do? once you have a private relationship with God, it could't be the least difficult ingredient to tell a guy or woman why, who chooses to no longer have faith. Why i think that's no longer as a results of fact of blind faith. when I did step out in faith and conventional Christ as Savior, He printed Himself to me, so those people who do have faith, truly can understand HIM.
