My boys hold juice in their hands and have their toothbrushes ready. It's a little dramatic for medicine but they take it, drink some juice, and then brush their teeth so they don't taste it. Just make sure they don't drink too much to wash it down or the medicine won't work. Good luck! =]

I'm straight with her - if it's going to taste like roadkill, I let her know, and line up a chaser for her (water, milk, juice, whatever.) My speech is, "yes, it tastes like BUTT but it will make you feel better. Take it." haha.

You can also try a spoonful of sugar (silly, but effective!) before the spoonful of medicine.

Next time, find a local pharmacy that has the new flavorings - mine only charges about $3 extra, a heck of a bargain when you don't have the fortune of a good patient. :) (If you pick the right flavor.)

Buy some "special juice" for kids who are good and take there medicine. Make a big deal about it and they're sure to want to try it, so they'll take their medicine. From then on, give it to them ONLY when they have taken medicine.

You could also use a special snack or toy they can play with, whatever they would prefer.

i don't have kids, but i do have a lil brother whos almost always sick and my dad dosen't tell him which medicine it is so he dosent know what it taste like. so he keeps a glass of water with him so he can rinse the taste out. (my brother usualy has to take more than one medicine at a time)

I have tried lots of things, and getting mad doesnt help. I have had to hold them down to take it and then getting barfed on because they gag on it. The best method we have is useing a surrenge where you can squirt it in there mouth a little at a time and lett ing them sip a drink of water in between squirts, and then praising them when they are done. We have tried adding the flavoring at the pharmacy and it made it worse.! Good Luck

Depends on their age, when they are a baby and they don't like it, you have to force it down, but when they are a bit older I think they just realize they have no choice. Sometimes bribery could work.

if it's prescribed medicine, the pharmacy can add a flavoring to it.
