my 95 dodge interpid snapped a shock yesterday the spring is pressing agaisnt the tire do i need to replace both sides

as a rule of thumb what you do to one side you do to the other. it's like if the left side front brakes are squealing as you are stopping, obviously they need to be replaced, so you do both sides not just the side that is squealing.
"murphy's law" if one side breaks it's sure as s**t that the other side will soon follow. good luck.

no need to change both sides just change the one that is broke
