IRS has a form, specifically for requesting an extention of time for filing.
You can download it and copy it from the IRS website, get it at a local IRS office, possibly a post office. This form must be mailed in by April 15, along with payment of an estimate of what you think you will owe them. If you are going to owe them some money, it's best to send in an honest estimate, because failure to do so may cause you to have to pay penalties on any amount you under-estimated. In other words, you do not get an extention to pay....just an extention on doing the paperwork.
"Bummer"! I know. :(

For a small business, normally (but you should ask the IRS) you will automatically be given an extension with a simple form AND paying what you are likely to owe. Thus you have to do a rough estimate of what you owe. There is now one form for business, 7004, according to this article

See http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4868.pdf?portlet=3 for the form and instructions. This only gives you an extension to file, not to pay, so you should pay in as close as possible to what you expect to owe, with the extension request. Your accountant would probably file the extension request for you.

You need to notify your accountant and see what can be done.
