I was born Catholic but have no really connection to any religion or church. I have begun to try to find something like faith but if this is what it is about I think I may be better off out here in the "wilderness". For people who profess a spiritual existence, I read an awful lot of intolerance here. Why?

Because many people have been brought up to believe that their religion is the only one that is right and holy. They develop rather warped personalities in trying to deal with a very complex world that does not, in general, share their views. Some of them get downright rude, but others simply go on saying what they believe, quoting scriptures, and assuming that it is right just because it is Written.

It's not just Christians, of course, although there seem to be a great many like that at the moment. But the Muslims do it too, as well as the mockers (whether atheists or agnostics or whatever).

Frankly, it's just bad manners.

Most of it is from the rabid atheists, bored bullies with no life, so they spend their time here bashing religion. Pitiful, for sure. The ones we get here are too trollish for real messageboards, people on messageboards refute, respond, discuss and debate, and the idiots we get here don't have the mental ability to take rebuttal, so they hang here, knowing this is a question/answer board and not a debate board, but at least here its one sentence insults, which is about all they can handle. The intelligent ones actually find debate messageboards, so we're stuck with the fools. You'll notice that these people are way more intolerant than any of the religions. You'll see all thru this section, the "christianity should be banned" and the "there is no god" idiots, and that's about the extent of their perceptions. They make even the most narrow-minded, hyprocritical fundies look bright.

Religion is a very delicate topic. There is often a lot of doubt so people have to try and convince others before they feel secure about their own religion. Many users on this section don't know anything about other religions other than what they may have heard on the TV or through other people therefore there is a lot of ignorance and close-mindedness.

It could be many things. Like the trolls who like to start trouble. People who just like to stir people up a little bit. There are also people just can't see that other people are actually happy with their religion or spirituality. Then there are the people who feel it's necessary to tell people their beliefs are wrong. I guess you could say it's the nature of religion. Mine's better than yours attitude.

There are a lot of intolerant people in this world, many are uneducated and others are manipulated by media propaganda. I accept all faiths even if I don't agree with them.

No one likes to think they might be wrong especially when it comes to their religion.... people are very sensative and very defensful... wich could be a good thing if its used correctly instead of just saying "you're going to hell because you don't believe in my god"

There is a spiritual battle going on for souls!

We fight not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers.
